Hard -Surfacing Road
Hard -surfacing of the St. Marys
road in Usborne Twp. from the high-
way to Winchelsea is now in progr-
ess. This road is a county highway
and the work is being done by the
county of Huron. Hot tarvia and
crushed stone are being used.

Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bender of
Toronto are spending their vacation
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ezra
Bender.
Mrs. E. R. Guenther is at present
in London Hospital. where she under-
went an operation.
Mrs. E. Kleinstiver who has been
visiting in Bowmanville and Toronto
has returned home.
Mr. and Mrs. Adam Fassold of
Detroit are spending their vacation
with Mr. and Mrs. P. Fassold.
Miss Lois Gaiser of London is
spending her holidays at ler home
here.
Mr. Jack Reschke of Detroit spent
last week -end with Mrs, Raschke and
family here.
Mrs. Milton Webb is in St. Joseph
Hospital, London where she under-
went an operation.
Dr Catt has returned to his home
in Edmonton after visiting here for
some time. Mrs. Catt and family will
remain for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. Ward Kraft of Lon-
don are holidaying with friends here
The next blood Donors Clinic will
be held on Wednesday, August 8th in
Exeter. Anyone wishing to donate of
their blood will. kindly call Mrs. S.
P. Currie.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Sippel, of Lan-
sing, Mich., were visitors with Mr.
and Mrs. Clayton Pfile and Mr. and
Mrs. John Kuntz.
Miss Graybeil, of Woodstock, is
visiting with her aunt, Miss Bea-
trice Graybeil, and Mr. and Mrs.
Wes. England.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Birk and
family called on friends here on
Saturday last.
Mr. and Mrs. Melton Walper, of
Ingersoll, and Mr. and Mrs. C.
Routledge and family, of Ingersoll,
were week -end visitor, with iVlr.
and Mrs. P. Fassold.
Miss Onieda Restemeyer R.N., of.
London, is spending her vacation
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto
-Restemeyer.
Mrs. Taylor, who has been in
Toronto with her husband, who has
been very ill, has returned home, and
the Doctor has also arrived since.
Misses Betty Gaiser and Shirley
Smith attended the Evangelical camp
at Paris .last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Guenther and
family of Windsor, are spending a

Mr. and Mrs. J. J Swartz; Mr. and
Mrs. Webb off Detroit visited at the
home of Mrs. Emily Fuss over the
Week -end.
Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Gelbert of De-
troit were week -end visitors at the
home of the Iatter's sister, Mr. and
Mrs. Theo..Mittleholtz.
• Miss Irene Turkheim, R.N., who
is nursing in General Hospital, Strat-
ford, is holidaying at the home of
her mother, Mrs. E. Turkheim.
Mr. and Mrs. Laird Thiel and
family of Lanz Siding, have been
staying at the home of the former's
parents, Mr. and Mrs. George J.
Thiel for some .time.
'On Sunday, Dr. and Mrs. P. J.
O'Dwyer and family intend leaving
fors their annual holidays at Wilber-
force, Ont. They intend being on
vacation for three weeks.
Mr. John N. Cantin of Montreal,
was: in town last week. He spent a
few. days with his mother, Mrs. N.
M •,Oantin at St. Joseph, and who is
getting along as well as could be

Einore and daughter Barbara, and
'Mrs: Lena Magel all of Detroit were
Sunday visitors at the home of the
latter's sister, Mr. and Mrs. Josiah
Geiger. Mrs. Mage1 intends to spend
albou,t three weeks with her sister and

Harold and Mrs. Allan Craig and
daughter Nancy of Toronto visited at
the home of relatives for several
days. Congratulations go to Harold
for his success in Toronto University
where he received 7 A's and a 100p.c.
on several other papers. The former
will remain with her children, Mr.
and Mrs. Leonard Erb and Mr. and
Mrs. Bruce Koehler for a few months
Mr. Ed. Sippel of Lansing, Mich,
an d a former Zurich old boy, called
on .friends here last week, he aslo
called at the home of Mr. and Mas.
C. L. Smith, the house that his par-
ents, the late Mr. and Mrs. Philip
Sippel built, but noticed many chan-
ges made since he was a boy and had
lived there. Mr. Sippel has a few
apartment houses in Detroit, arid
he finds just enough work with these
to make it interesting.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Datars, Jr. and
daughter Anita, motored to Kitchen-
er and Guelph on Sunday where the
latter will attend the Lutheran (Girl's
Camp at Edgewood Park. Jack
Haberer and Ronald Heimrich re-
turned home with them after an en-
joyable two weeks' at the Park in
the Boys' Camp. What a grand
privilege this outing is for our youth,
where they receive refreshments for
both soul and body. Probably, some
of us have thought we might have
been "born thirty years too soon."

At the United Church, Mitchell,
Edith Irene Pudner, of Seaforth,
daughter of Mrs. Gertrude Keen, of
Egnmondville, became the bride or
Ross William .Stewart Bell, son of W.
M. Bell, of Hensel! and the late Mrs.
Bell, Rev. A. H. Johnston perform-
ed the ceremony. Mrs. H. Johnston
was organist. The bride given in mar-
riage by D. F. McGregor, clerk of
Tuckersmith, was lovely in floor-
length gown of white faconne crepe.
Beside her veil she wore a gold loc-
ket gift of the groom and carried
roses. Miss Erma Walters of Sea -
forth was maid of honor. The brides-
maid was Miss Gertrude Murray,
graduate missionary of Toronto Bible
College, who wore her graduation
dress, with priority crepe. Little
Gertrude Kathleen Puder was flow-
er girl. The groom was attended by
Howard Hyde of 1Tensall, and the
usher was James Sangster, Hensall.
The reception was held at the home
of the bride's mother in Egmonctvtlle.
The happy couple left on a wedding
strip to Toronto, Buffalo, Thousand
Islands and Montreal. Mr. and Mrs.
Bell will reside on the groom's farm
on the Zurich Road one, mile west of
