Mr. Noah Sararas o'f Kitchener, is
visiting at the home of his sister, Mr
and Mrs, Conrad Siomon and other
friends,
Pte. Ed. Brenner and wife and
daughter; Mr. and Mrs. L. Cook and
daughter Patricia of Kitchener, and
Mr. Herb Kuntz of B. C., were week-
end visitors at the home of the for-
merr's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John
Brenner.
On Thursday evening the relatives
and friends gathered at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Peter Deichert, Jr.; in
honor of their daughter; Annietta,
(bride elect) and presented her with
with a miscellaneous shower. An-
nitta .gratefully replied for their
Wildness. The evening was spent in
Bunco game and a delicious Iuneh.
was served.
Exceptionally cold weather has con
tinned the past week, with heavy
frosts at night. On Tuesday snow
flurries were in evidence, ancr if the
early fruit trees now in blossom
will come through these frosts O.K.,
it will be a big surprise. The fall
wheat is suffering somewhat, but a
few days of the right weather and'all
will be fine again. There has been
practically no growth for the past
two weeks or more.
OBITUARY
The Late Mrs. Fee
There passed away on Tuesday,
April 17th in St. .Tosaah's Hospital,
London, Luella :Stelck, beloved wife
of Oliver Fee of Hensall, in her 5ptie
year, following a lengthy ,il xeess
The deceased was a daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. F. Steck of near
Hen'sall. Surviving i,s her husband
and a sister, Mrs. ' G erden Love,
Hillsgreen, 'Funeral ' servi;ees were
held from the home. Mr. T. Harry
Hoffman •contributed a solo entitled
"Good -Night Here, but Good Morning
up There'. Interment in Bayfield
cemetery.
27 BOXES PACKED
What are we doing as individuals
to help the morale of our boys who
are fighting hard, puttingup with
hardships that none of us ever give
.a thought about? Did ,yrou respond
to the call for help to pack boxes
last Thursday night? 'nice you give'
a small donation, or pu. . orne little
extra. treat In these boxes? And do
you realize ho:w small a handful of
ladies must work hard and long to
get this job done, and the precious
boxes which mean so much to the
boys who have been away from home
so. long, !be sent as quickly as possible
this is your responsibility as well as
mine. They are our .boys, at time of
packing the help of the men es appre-
ciated.. Rural and town ladies are
you interested in the Women's Insti-
tute and the great work they are do-
ing?. If. not you should be, this is a
chartered. organization and should
have a. membership of .at least 50 in
a community such as this, how can
we •carry on without the co-operation'
of the .public. The boys in service
are fighting for us and cannot quit.
We must not be deserters either. For
the year 1944-45, we wish to thank
the. planes of business and all who
contributed to this cause for their
kindness.. Mr. C. L. Smith for a
copy of the. Zurich Herald each time
we. packed; Mr •George Thief, Who
so kindly carries our honey and box-
es without charge; Postmaster Bill
who, willingly ties the boxes for us,
and anyone else who has helped in
any way small or large. On behalf of
our fighting boys we say, Thank

A. wedding reception was field at
lthe home of Mr. and Mrs. A1,bert.
Bedour of the Blue Water north, on
Saturday evening last, when the ree
cently married couple, Mr. and Mrs..
Armand ,Bedour were honoured by,,
relatives and friends. There were a-
bout' 125 present. The evening was.;
spent in dancing to the excellent
music provided by Rau's ;orchestras,.
During the evening Mr. and Mrs..
Bedour were presented with many
beautiful gifts. 1V1r, Bedour made a
suitable reply.

was a visitor with her parents, Mr:
and Mrs. 'Waiter Westlake.
Mrs. C. Robbins and daughter, .and

itors with their mother,. Mrs. W. J.
McLeod.
Miss wane Brandon, of the Bewail
teaching staff'- and three .lady friends
spent a.. week -end at the Brandon
home.
Mr. Frank Keegan was a recent
visitor with friends at Port Dover,
Hamilton and Wyona.
The many friends of Mr. Lewis
McLeod, ,whet has been ill in Chat
hath hospital, are glad to hear he is
improving and expects to be home in
the. near future.

The popular play: "lou Said it,"
was given on. Friday exiling of last
week in the Town H'al1 by a Iocal
cast of 12, to a large, audience, and
was a decided success. The costumes
were good, each taking their part
with great credit. The proceeds at
the door were $71,. being for Red
Cross purposes. Mereh credit is due

instructors.
