An average attendance or 15 was
recorded for the eight regular ;meet-
ings of the Zurich Wornens' Institute
which has a membership of 24. These
members have completed a busy year
according to the following inforrnat-
ion that was presented by local, me-
mbers: 1, History of Bread. 2. Dia-
covezy of Butter; 3, Origin of Sand-
wiches; 4, Household Hints and Val-
ue of Vitirnins. 5, Providing for the
winter months; Methods of storing
different kinds of vegetables. 0,
Thanksgiving thoughts—Think and
Thank God. 7, The Canadian Apple.
8, Madam Curie's Coming to. Amer-
ica. 9, Pioneers of Hay Township.
10, Township School Area. 11/ Christ
mas in other lands. The projects
sponsored by our organization were
(a) Sewing Course conducted by a
qualified instructor from the Provin-
cial Department of Agriculture, (b)
An Agriculture banquet to which the
Institute catered, for the purpose of
providing funds for the bof,s boxes.
(c) Sale of sandwiches at local auc-
tion sales and dances for the Same
overseas fund.
Invitations were accepted to visit:
(a) The Creamery, where.Mr. Millet
explained carefully the manufa:Oture
of butter. (b) The Home gictonics
Room in the Public School; Where
Mrs.. W. A. Siebert displayed' the
Childrens' handiwork. At one ieeet-
ing, Miss Hern spoke on "The Berit-
age of Womanhood," dealingeaaiiieue
larly with the heritage of Lost Values
On another oecasion, Father Lueier
spoke on "Horne Life", stressing the
fact that God is the Creator of our

Pte. Charles Thiel who is stationed
at London, is enjoying a two week's
leave with his family here.
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weido and chil-
dren were -visitors at Stratford one
day last week.
Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Schilbe and
Kenny, were Sunday visitors with
Mrs. Schilbe' parents, at Brucefleld.
Mrs. Wm. Bender of Grand Bend
spent Tuesday at the home of her
sister, lVLrs. Wm. Wagner and other
relatives and friends.
The many friends of Mr. Harry
Bad.our are very happy to see him
back after spending some time with
relatives at Sarnia and Walkerville.
Mr. George Volland and Mrs. John
Truerimer of Detroit were week -end
visitors at the home of the former's
cousin, Miss Lizzie Volland ano other
friends.
The congregation of Zurich Evan-
gelical church heartily welcome back
for another year, their pastor, Rev.
C. B. Heckendorn, who returns for
his seventh year of work among the
Zurich .church.
Mrs. J. W. Horner and daughter,
Mrs. E. E. G. Krueger visited at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Ings at
Varna. M. Ings, who had not been
so well is improving. His many fri-
ends Fish him continues success.
Miss. Patricia O'Dwyer and Miss
Kaye Applin, nurses in training at
St. Joseph's Hospital, London, visit-
ed on Satarday at the home or the
former's parents, Dr. and Mrs. P.
O'Dwyer. a, •
The 'Womens' Institute ill hold
their May .meeting in the Town Hall,
on the' 7th. Rev. E. Heimrich will
be the guest speaker. Members and
friends are cordially invited to attend

Pte. J. E. 'Pare, of the Queen's
Own Cameron Highlanders, recently
arrived from Overseas after seeing
some action in France, spent a few
days at the home of his aunt and
uncle, Dr. and Mrs. W. B. Coxen.

the Piano Recital, presented by the
pupils of Lenora Tuerkheim, A.T.C.
M., at the Towle Hall, Zurich, on
;Wednesday, May 9th, at 8 p.m.

Life Service Day will be observed
by the members of the Luther League
of St. Peter's Lutheran church next
Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Special featur-
es will include numbers by Mr. Gill
of Grand Bend, who is the choir lea-
der of St. Peter's Choir and the
singing of a girl's chorus. Leaguers
will take various parts of the service.
All are invited to attend and espec-
ially all the young people of the con-
gregation.

The Zurich Lutheran parsonage
Was the scene of an afternoon wed-
ding when Rev. E. Heimrich united
in marriage 111r. Herbert Keifer, son
of Mr. Carl Keller and the late Mrs.
Keller of Dashwood, to Almeda Mary
Deichert, daughter of Mr. ana Mrs.
Peter Deichert, Jr. The lovely bride
donned in a floor length gown of
white sheer over taffeta with a slight
train. Her head dress was a finger -
tipped veil, and carried a bouquet of
white roses. Miss Rose Deichert, sis-
ter of the. bride, attended her in a
floor length gown of queen's blue
and wore a corsage of pink roses.
Catherine Hohner, niece of tee bride
celebrated her third birthday ley be-
ing flower girl. She wore a floor
length dress of pale blue ana carried
a nose gay of tulips. The groom ras
attended by his nephew, Mr. Milton
Keller. ,A reception was held at the
home of the bride's parents at nhieh
about aCty were present. The bride's
mother received them wearing a yrayy
and white length dress and wore a
white rose. Later the bride .and
groom left for Niagara Falls and
Kitchener. For travelling the .bride
chose a blue crepe dreSs," wore '
beige topcoat and 'blue aecessories.
