Heckendorn motored to Kitchener one iday last week to at- tend church committees. Mr, and Mrs. Ward Fritz and da- ughter Mary Lou were Sunday visit- ors at the home of their parents, Mr and Mrs. H. K. Eilber, Crediton, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Hart of Clinton and Mr. and Mrs. John Hartman and family of Varna were Sunday visit- ors with Mr. and Mrs. Kuno 'Hartman of the Goshen south. Mrs. Peterson of Dashwood is nurs- ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. ;Trio Gallman, where she is (in attendance with the former who had been ill, but his many friends are pleased to hear that he is getting along nicely. Mr. R. F. Stade visited with his wife, Mrs. Stade, who is a patient at St. Joseph's Hispital, London, on runday, Her many friends are ple- ased to hear that s',.e 1:- getting along as well as can be hoped for. Bess 'enter•- tainei, friends at their home with lan- tern slides of modern days and also of Zuridh Village scenes of over 50 years ago, which were very interest- ing indeed. While on their way to Hen.sal•1 on Tuesday, Messrs. A. C. KalbfBeisch and Jack Merner, having a trailer at- tached to the car, all of a sudden it started to swerve and got completely out of control, took to the side of the road and fell on its side ,with the result that Mr. Kailyfleisch land- ing on top of Jack, and there they were pinned and helpless in the car and it took some tall manouvering for Jack to get loose and open a door to get out. However with the help from Prang's wrecker they were straightened up and show only the signs of a shaking up. The car seem- ed to stand the shakeup very good. The children do like it so much as they never get it nor- mally. .When we put it on their rusks at tea -time, there is a general chorus of "Oh, honey!" We.also use it occasionally for makr.ng biscuits which are very popular. The chil- dren call these honey crunchier_. CLOSING OF AIRPORT Goderich -- No ceremony marked the closing of No. 31 Air Navigation School, R.A.•F., at Port Albert on Saturday last, The personell had been busy packing up for some days the last draft left on Monday last. The blue uniform will be greatly missed on the streets of Goderich; for nuuiy happy associations in business and the social life of the town harve been. made up during the four years since the station was opened. The station now becomes a holding unit of the R. C.A.F., with only a small staff.
