Local School Concert
'The annual ,Zurich Public School
Concert held in the ,Community
Centre last Thursday evening was a.
decided success and well attended. All
'the ,.stildents from the youngest to
'the oldestgave their parts very well
with choruses, drills, plays, etc. Con-
gratulations to the Principal, Mr.
Reid and` his 'assistant teachers for
ther sidendid training; to the schol-

The three-man panel of judges fox
the .Bush News Photo Contest, spon-
sored by the Ontario Forest Inform-
ation •Service, have awarded first
prize to Quimby F. Hess, forester
with the Ontario Dept. of Lands &
Forests,, Sault Ste. Marie' and son of
Mai: Andrew F. Hess ofZurich. His
prize-winning photograph was a close
up study of a bearded bushworker
"named Mike Wolenski and thus Mr.
Hess wins the Kodak Tourist camera,
-which was fust prize in the contest.
r &S.TRYP TO 'BERMUDA
Mr. 'Mervyn Stelck, of Bradford,
and 'son of Mr and Mrs. Ed. Stelck
of Dashwood; arid who is district
sales manager for the Allis-Chaimers
farm machinery Company, has retur-
ned recently after holidaying for a
week in Bermuda, winning the trip
by high salesananship. He timed the
holiday to coincide 'Aith the Royal
Tour and was able to snap a number
of good photos of Queen Elizabeth
and the Duke of Edinburgh. Mr Stelck
flew to Bermuda and reported an en-
joyable time with temperatures rang-
ing from 75 to 81 degrees. He also
took some very interesting pictures
of the Royal Couple which he should
be proud off.

On Monday, Dec. 14th a slight
tangle occurred on the Goshen Line
south when the cars driven by Clar-
ence Re4ichert and Donald Hesse both
of Zurich, collided. Damages were
estimated at $150. No one was in-
jured.
On Dec. 17th a 'car -truck collision
in the blinding snow, nine miles south
of Goderich sent two persons to the
Goderich Hospital for treatment of
multiple injuries. Mrs. Alva Thomp-
son of Parkhill suffered head and
facial injuries; Max. Ducharme, of
R.R. 2, Zurich suffered head and pos-
sible shoulder injuries. Both vehicles
were northbound on No. 21 Highway
at time of Collision. Mr and Mrs.
Thompson and Mr and Mrs Ducharme
were riding in a car which struck the
rear -of a tractor -trailer rig driven
by John Black of Goderich. God-

Last Wednesday evening at Exeter
the Zurich -Flyers defeated the St.

fixture. Doug 0.'iBrien with two,
Bob McKinley, • Don Hesse and 'Rog-
ier Fortier with one each.. scored for
the Flyers. •
But that ISaturday evening game
at Goderich was somewhat humiliat-
ing when those ibig heavy Sailors pol-
ished. off the Flyers by the score of
74.. At the end of the first period it
was 2-1 in favor of Zurich, and then
those big fellows of the County
Town turned on the heat and ran up
a score, keeping the Flyers scoreless,
With the prospects of ice in the
Zurich Arena, we hope that we can
have the pleasure of seeing a iew
games on our own rink here, as It
always seems more like a real game
