London on Sunday last to pay an
afternoon visit to their on - Roney,
who is a patient at the Children's
Sanitarium.
Mr, Stanley Smith, who has been
a patient in St. ,ioseph's Hospital,
London, returned to his horse the
past Week, and after receiving treat-
ment for injuries received. while at
work on a cottage. We hope for
Stanley's.speedy recovery.
We are also glad to see :Mr, Leon
Bedard nearing his ureal self again,
after gong through a rather ,painful
operation in St. Joseph's Hospital,
London We aro glad to see •the
,ick ones recuperating to their nat-
ural aelveti: again.
Evening visitors at the home of
Mr and Mrs Lon Bedard on Sunday,

game of solo took place. The game
is amusing, it is noted for a German
game, and of which it requires much
attention, if you want to be a w2nner.
And the results of Sunday evening's
game were, the gent of the 14th

prize with all the trimming, perhaps
it is better to keeli away from those
fiery crackers at the game,
Let us not forget that every day
counts one between now and the next
blizzard. But there is yet plenty of
room for nice weather but let us not
hope for too much, for we are near--
ing the last lap of Indian Summer
for this year,
On Wednesday last a party was
held at the home of Mr. and IVIrs.

the Mock Farms where they have

welcome them in our neighbourhood.
Neighbours and friends attended the
party and gave the newcomers a
very cherio welcome.

Husbands and Newcomers Entertain
Wed. Dec. 2 was a big mot for
the W,S.W.S, and L.A. of the E.U.
B. Church, Dashwood; when the husb-
ands and a num=ber of newcomers
were invited to a turkey dinner with
all the trimmings. The newcomers,
Dr, Gulene, Mr and Mrs. Wterema,
Mr and Mrs Van Dupen, Mr and Mx,
Verne Hansord, and Mr Andersen
were introduced to the group.
A Christmas program followed
consisting of carols, the Christina-
tory and prayer by Mrs. Geo. Link
.A reading by lis. =Carl Oestreicher,
another by the pastor, giving rug--
gestions for making the season more
meaningful to the family in the

A pretty late fall wedding took
place on :Sat. Nov, 28th .at the home
of the bride's parents, Mr and Mrs
Lorne.McNauletol of Croanarty,when
their daughter Willa Georgina, be-
came the (bride of Ivan Lorraine Hall,
son of Mrs. Harry Hall and the late
Mr. Hall, Ottawa. The bride was
given in marriage by her father. Rev.
W. J. Rogers of Hensall, officiated.

sister; Ruth, and the groom's at-
tendent Mr. Earl Munroe of Sudbury

to the ladies. In closing all crossed
arms, joined hands with their neigh-
bors and sang one verse of "Blest
be the tie that Binds.”
Choir Holds Supper
The Choir of Zion Lutheran
church sat down • to their annual
turkey dinner, Fri. Dec. 4, at 6039
pan.. Cnlinaryr duties had been writ
ten under each plate so when clean-
up time came, the men had to help
or! Progreseive crokinole was en-
joyed. Mrs Reinhold Miller was the
highest with Donna Weber getting;
the consolation prize. Committee in
charge was Mrs. R. Hayter, Mrs. R.
Miller, Miss Elaine Becker, and Ect-
gar Restemneyer.
Mae and Mrs. Wm. Wein left Sun-
day to spend the winter with their
daughter and family, Mr and roles.
