P.- DISTRICT YOUTH RALLY henmanuel Evangelical United Beethren Church, Zurich, was the sCene of a great Youth gathearing on goirday evening, Oct. 5th. It was the of0asion of their fall rally ,bemg sp- Oeloored joinity lby the Youth. Fellow- s of the Stratford District of the ada Conference of the Evangelic- 41J.B. iChurch. There were more ttban 100 young people, moetly) teen ars, plus their eiastoes and a few , adelt Youth Directors present from eekera. :churches in the district. The msters present were the Revs. W. LKatiser, ISItrattoed; L. A. Dorsch, 3.14/vertone H. L. Brox, ,Sebringville; 4:,E Roppel, Zurich; W. F. Krotz, Dashwood and E. N. Mohr, Crediton. The program, started off with an in- spiring devotional period in the church auditorium with Miss M. Sehenk of EVItilverton in ,charge. The op,ening song service was lea oy IVIiss Kleine and her sister at the piano, Voth of Tavistock. Rev. Ur. Dorsch gave a very appropriate message for yeeng people on "Christian ,Grerwth." Then after the devotions the entire group was directed to the church basement for a /Fellowship hour." Althougth the Zurich Y. F. was 'the host in a general way for this gathering, the Crediton group how- ever supplied all the "eats" for lunoh at the 'obese of the fellowship hour. .After lunch the meetiing was ad- journed iby singing ,"Blest be the Tie that: ,Blinds ,our Hearts in .Christian LO've," and a benedietory prayer iby the Zurich pastor. .ZURICH FALL FAIR Too nice a day was the experrence a the Zurich Fall Fair on Tuesday lest, farmers just couldn't 'let the nice day go by without igetting a lot of their outside work done, and so the attendance of the Fair did not reach up to expectations. The exhibits and program were of the very best, in fact in years we have not seen any better, but a few more hundred peo- ple should have been there. An excel- lent horse show and keen )41-H Club competitions. All Livestock showed some of the best in the country. The parade was (lovely featured by the Dashwood Citizen's Band and twelve Aldo. Fuss of Zurich in grain and seeds. Ethel Merner, Dennis Bedard and Melvin Smith of Zurich in vegelbalbles; Mrs. Edgar Darling of ,Cladeboye, Mrs. II Fuss and :Mrs. Edward Haberer of Zurich in ladies' work;Valentene Be- cker, of Dashwood and Larry Snider of Exeter in farm anachineey exhibits Public school 'winners were: Eleanor Prang, Peter Van neaten, Robert Westlake, Elizabeth Johnston and Mary Ellen Thiel in S.S. '7. Audrey and Donna Richardson in No. 3; Noe - ma, Geiger and Anne Meidinger in 4; Marjorie Hendrick and Donna Turn- bull in No. 11; Phyllis Schade and Theresa Ducharme in No. 12; •Shirley Becker and Lois Fisher in No. 15. Keen competition in all the horse classes 'were shown who came ham far and near. Especially was the pony contests keen and the .sac/dle race.although not too well controlled, but was finallt1 won by Allan Thiel of Ueda. 'Same fine showing of tan- dem driving was shown, hi all it was a big afternoon' entertainiv, and so Zurich Fall Fair has made history for another year.
