visitors with their mother, Mrs. Em-

Mrs. Ross McNatb of Darvmouth,
N.S., is vending a few months. with
her parents, Mr land Mrs. Norman
Gascho, while her husband is doing
some naval exercises in England.
Mr and Mrs E•uigene Kalbfleisch
and daughter of Detroit, woo are
holidaying at Ipperwash Beach, were
in town Tuesday evening 'calling. on
their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Adolph Kallbfleisch.
!Mr and Mrs. Harvey Clausrus who
have been living about a mile north
of town, have disposed of this fine
property and left last Wednesday
for Middleburg, Indiana. We very
mulch regret of losing them as citi-
zens of our cosnanunity, but we know
they will adjust theanselves to where-
erver they decide to locate.
Stephen Man Dies
There passed away at his residence
Con. 11, Stephen Township on Tues-
day September lst, 1953, Joseph
Wilds, in his 68th iyearr, The ne-
mains are resting at the T. Hairy
Hoffman Funeral Home, Dashwood,
till Friday, September 4th when re-
quiem mass• will be sung at 10 a.m.
in The Church of Our Lady, Mount
Oarmel, with interment in the ad-
joining eenmetery.

Our old boy friend Mr, Philip
Bedard, popular shoe mercaantt of
Tilbury gave us a friendly call one
day last week. He and Mrs. Bedard
were returning from 'a motor trip to
old Quebec, where they visitecr mangy
places of interest, including the love-
ly sights at Montreal. Near IThree
Rivers they visited the famous shrine
Capdu Madline, where !many mirac-
le have been performed. They were
much impressed with their trip and
interesting to listen to,

weather. When the mercury keeps
climbing up in the nineties during the
day in this part of the globe, it real-
ly is hot and humid. Sorry to say
there is no relief in sighs probably
for another week, but .cooler weath-
er surely is on the way somewhere.
Not alone are the days so uncomfort-
able warn, but ilhe nights bool1 off
very little with not is speck of 'breeze
blowing, tine, buildings become just
like a furnace. We have not hand
any rain for three weeks and the
earth has become so hard and dry
that it is a wonder there rs uanyn
igrorwth .anywhere, but regardless of
these handicaps there is still the us-
ual :growth of vegetation, and don't
foaig•et, weeds are coarsing along well
too. The more tender vines like •cu-
cumlbers and melons are pretty /well
burnt out, but potatoes keep ndtce and
green, and lawns don't look too bad.
