THE LIONS FROLIC•
Next Wednesday evening, August.
19th will he the ninth annual Frolic
sponsored by the Zurich Lions Club,
and we hope it will be the best and
biggest ever held. There will he an
abundance of fun as well as high
class entertainment from srx o -clock
on when the monster parade will be-
gin. .This is always a very interest-
ing part of the program and will be
seen from the streets, but after this
there will be all kinds of fun and
entertainment for a11. So don't go
home after the parade, enjoy the re-
mainder of the evening. This year
the management has decided to hold
it on. Main Street if it is a nice ev-
ening, but in case of ;bad weatner it
will again be held in the large Arena.
Remember every nickel of the pro-
ceeds, will be used for welfare work.
A high class program will be rend-
ered with outstanding artists, and
the parade will be headed by the
Lions Boys and Girls Band. WE'ELL
BE 'MING YOU!

THE E1FCTION
;Monday was election day through-
out the Dominion of Canasta and
thevote of the ballot has again
spoken for the next four years at
least. The Liberal party is again
swept in ?power_with an .overwtelm-
ing power. Early reports from the
easterly parts as far as Newfound-
land went staid for the goirernment.
Quebec .allso and Ontario ibroke a-
bout as the last election. Rut things
did not go so strong in the Western
provinces where the government lost
alarm. strength. But the St. Laurent
government will have a large clear
majority over ali ether combined
parties., which give them full
control of the affairs of the country.
Here in the newb'l formecr riding of
Huron, the P. Conservative .candidate
Elston -Cardiff of Huron North was
the. winner defeating his opponent,
Andrew Y. McLean of Seaforth by
around a, thousand votes. At first
it was a neck to neck race, but as the
reports came in from the northern
part of th'e' riding the C.P..candidate
kept on pining. Bay Township gave
the Liberalits usual three hundred
or so majority, Hensel). went C. P.
by about 215, usually breaks even, but
Exeter went strong 02. Naturally
Seaforth mil up a big majority for
McLean, it being his home town. We
agree with many fair minded people
who said that we have two outstand-
ing men running and it scams too
ball to have to give one of them up
at Ottawa. However, four years is
not very long and then there will be
another .elecien and the people .can
again choose who they want, We are
indeed glad for this plan of choosing
our leaders, and this was shown by
the large vote polled. So we will
ritty behind: those in office and keep
