Was :Big Success
The Haan Supper Sponsored by at.
Boniface Parish in the 'Community
Centre, Z. urhsh on Saturday evening
was a huge success, and was well
patronized, and needless to say, we
were all very well fed, as is always;
the result of these events. Tne"after
dinner or guest speaker, 1- ev. Major
J. L. Hennessey of London, did a
very nice ,part of the entertainment
ifoilnwing the supper. His discourse
was in the interest of the Catholic
Womens' League, as he is much in-
terested in this work, and his address
contained a quite sufficient amount
of whit and humor. It was very In-
teresting. A few musical numbers
and song were enjoyed with Mr: Den-
nis Bedard acting as master of cere-
monies. The speaker was introduced
by the Parish Priest, •Rev. Father D.
Monaghan, who also macre some
pleasing remarks.
REEVES HAVE IT OUT
Thousands of persons on July lst
attended the Exeter Kinrsmen Club's
annual Dominion Day cele+bration..at
Exeter' Corn. Park and saw district
reeves throw juicy pies at each other
The program started with a targe .par
ade in the afternoon, in which there
was a large variety of pets, animals
hitched, etc., but the snuck adver-
tised pie throwing was the :brg at-
traction, of which Verne Pincombe,
of Usborne Twp. was declared the
winner. Last year's contest was won
by Mr. Earl Campbell, reeve of Hay.
The new car that was drawn on was
won by David McLeod, of Mitchell.
