Cold and Wet.
Very cold and extremely wet wed%
ther was had the past week, T.n'Lur:-
day, Fr•i'day and Saturday nothing
but rain and cold. Many of the low
lying fields were flooded over and
the ;apning crops which haves been
sewn in these places cannot help but
being drowned out. , To the south of
us in ;many sections there is little or
no seeding in, and farmers are be-
coming alarmed owing to so much
wet and cold weather. -
Many Attend Services
Many ;from this community attend-
ed the services at the Evangelical
Conference at Dashwood the past
week, and enjoyed the services with
specval music and .capable speakers,
who caxxiied a message of progress'
in extending ,christianrity. It is 'indeed
gratiifying how !people rally behind
this Chriistian religion, which helps so
much to keep world 'conditions in a
sane way of thinking. If it were.
not for our ,churches which direct
our thoughts to higher things wnat
would become 'of our destiny, is the
key note of these leaders. Go to
the ,church of your choice, and you
will become even a better citizen. _
Moved to London
!M•r. and Mrs. Gus Roche who for
the past iaix years resided on their
lovely •50 -acre ;farm on the town line
west of Blake, last week moved their
effects to 170 Stirling' Street m the
city of London, where they will he
operating a grocery store bus;ne,is.
We all regret to see (1,7r and )Ips.
Roche leave the conlnr.unity, as they
were always so nc`ive in public aff-
airs, Mrs. Rrcche beim• a very capable
president of 'he Zurich Branch of
the Women's Intitute, and both so
S active in church work. Mr. Roche
PRICE
has been for some years ;and is still
a member of Hay Township Council,
and since its first hoard of directors
were elected for the local Commun-
ity Centre, Mr. Roach has been a
very active and agressive member.
To show their esteem the neighbours
and friends enjoyed a farewell party
at their home previous to their lea-
ving when a most enjoyable time was
spent. We hope some time rn , he
not too far distance Mr and Mrs.
Roache will return to their farm and
again take their place so well in the
community.
