Mr. 'Charles Hagan of Seaforth is
pending a few ,days with friends in
town. Mr. Hagan was confined to
his bed with ;illness for some weeks
recently.

the sun is shining nicely again, and
we hope it will soon get 'wormer to
stimulate growth,

Is attending Conference
Rev. H. E. Roppel, pastor of the
Zurich E+v+angellical church is attend-
ing the Conference Sessions which
are being held in the Cailvary church
this %week.
Mr. and Mrs Joseph Gelinas of
town spent . the week -end in London;
visiting her . daughter that is a pat-
ient in St. Joseph's Hospital and is
getting along ,nicely. They also vis-
ited other members of their fancily.
Wthile there .they galled on Mrs. Julia
()barrette and Mrs. Regis Denonn:me
and iMrs. C. Ayotte at the House of
Providence, London.

Monday morning, midnight and we
now ,can work an hour longer in
the evening. The usual conrusicn
was .experienced, some chserches Lur-
ed over Saturday midnight and others
Suntday night, but mow everything is
O.K. again and we are allset for
the summer months.

Misses Miranda Brown and Ilene
Raiz who had heen engaged in Miss-
ionary work with the United Church
of Canada in .the Western Provin,cee
as veil -as in the Maratimes and now
located. in Hamilton, gave interesting
talks of their work in the morning
and evening 'services in the Evangel-
ical church on Sunday. They were
guests at the Thome of Mr. and Mr..
Peter Glingerich, also visiting with
relatives.
Mr and Mrs Paul Jeffrey, and the
foraner's sister, Mrs. Ed. Laque and
daughter of Detroit were in town on
Monday. They were on their way
hone from London where they had
called on the former's mother, Mrs.
C. Ayotte, who spent the winter
months in the House of Providence,
Hoene in that city. Mrs. Ayotte is
moving to Windsor where ishe Is be-
ing taken :care of at a similar home,
and will be much closer to her chile
dren ealto are mostly in Detroit.
Gave Program
Eleven colored girls from the
Mission High :School in Saginaw,Mich
along. with their instructors were at
the Zurich Mennonite church last
Friday evening and gave their mess-
age in song to a well packed church
of eager listeners, The instructors
were Mr. Melvin Leidig and Pastor
and Mrs. Leroy heckler who .have op-
ened up a mission eom.e years ago in
Eun all nnegro section of Saginaw, It
is wonderful the work they are doing
in their venture, the girls are well
trained and do their -part or the
program nicely. Pastor Beckley, who
i:s a relative to the Tleckler fnnnilies
of this community, 'delivered a vary

DASHWOOD
The Dashwood Planing Mill an-
nounce the opening of tihesr new
modern warehouse across the road
frorn their present mill eiitu+ation.
The E o+ckey Eneieu+tive entertained
the tear with a turke;ydin ger in • the
Men's Olulb room. It was decided to
present Mr. Stuart Webb who has
been i11 for some time with a gift.
G.N.O. Girls entertained their hue -
bands at a turkey ,dinner in the Do-
minion Hotel, Zuric. The girls pro-
vided the entertainment followed by
a .dance. Everyone reported a good
time. Door prizes were won by Flor-
ence Wein and Wallace Wein, Alma
Genttner won the Marshmellow 'con=
test.
Major Baker
Major Baker 62,- who had farmed
all this life in Stephe Township, died
at .his hone there April 23. He was
been at Grand Bend and was an act-
ive .mem'bee of Shipka United Church
Surviving besides his wife are one
daughter and two sons two siste s
and two brothers. The remains rested
at the Hoffman Funeral home from
where the funeral was helld Saturday
with interment in Grand Bend cent:
etery.
Died Suddenly at Dashwood
The community was shocked - on
Tuesday to learn of the sudden death
of ;Mrs, John )Wein, in her 75th year.
She was :the former Anna Kraft,was
born in Stephen, nie'ar Dashwood, ...a
member of the Evangelical U. B.
Chureih, Survived by her husband,' 2
daughters, Mrs. Gordon Baynnani,
(Meta) of Exeter; Mrs Harry Par-
sons (Margaret) of Detroit; 4 sons,
Kenneth of Hamilton; Floyd and
Wallace of Dashwood; Sheldon of
Exeter; 4 sisters, Mrs. Emma Haugh,,
Misses Marie, 'Susan and Pearl Kraft
of Dashwood; 2 brothers, Sam ami
Conrad of Eston, Sask. Resting at the
Hoffman funeral home till Friday,
Much sympathy is extended to the
bereaved family.
