The annual meeting, coupled with
a 'hot turkey supper, of the Hensall
District Co -Operative was held in
the Zurich Community Centre, last

BUSINESS:
1. Receiving Reports of the Presi-
dent, Secretary -Treasurer and
Auditors.
2. The discussion of other matter in
the interest of the Company.

The regular Women's Institute inet
in the town hall, Zurich, on Monday
evening, Mrs. Newell Geiger being
chairlady, opened the meeting by
singing the Institute Ode, followed
by praying the Lord's Prayer, and
singing "`O Canada." Robin Meyers
and Robert Johnston favoured the
audience with two lovely duetts in
song. Mrs Milton Oesch accompanied
them at the piano. Mr and Mrs Ed.
Stelck of Dashwood rendered sever-
al selections on the piano- and violin.
Mrs. Milton Oesch gave a piano solo,
Mrs Newell Geiger and Mrs. Stelck
read suitable poems. All these were
enjoyed by every one present. Mr.
Wm. H. Edighoffer was called as the
guest speaker, topic: Community
Activities and Public Relations. rhe
speaker praised the Women's Instit-
ute for their splendid work that they
have been and are doing in thehome,
community, as well as giving a help-
ing hand wherever it is needed such
as the South Huron Hospital, Exeter,
Children's Aid Society; Foster homes
etc., also the Chamber of Commerce
and Lions Clubs, Farm Forums and
other ,organizations. They all must
have co-operation if they want to
accomplish something. Many other
good things were said by the epenk-
er, but space will not permit, and
he closed his remarks with a well
composed poem. Appreciation was
expressed to Mr. Edighoffer for his
splendid remarks. Mrs. G. Rohe,
preident, then took charge of the
business. Mrs. Wm. Forrester. sec-
retary read the :minutes of the last
meeting which were approved. Roll
call on "Favourite Recipes" and
samples of these were given. Mrs.
Mary Manson treated all to a delic-
ious lemon pie, which was a real
treat. It was voted upon that the
Institute. donate $200 to the South
Huron Hospital. Mrs. David Meyers
Secretary of the Penny round -up fur
this .distect for the Canadian Mental
Health Association, Toronto, explain-
ed the need of finances for the ep-
keep and help of the ones in need,
and that Penny bags could be sent
for. This was voted on and carried.
Other business was ditieUSSCd. The
meeting closed by the National An-
thetn. Delicious refreshments were
served by the committee. Mrs. Mary

ary for book rent. This indebted-
ness was liquidated in 1953.
There are over 900 books in the
library and 200 of these are exch-
anged every three month; by the Co.
Library .Bookmobile. Thin service is
provided for a nominal annual me-
mbership fee of $1 for adults and
50 cents for ehildren. The Library
is open on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 3 to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays
