South Huron Hospital at Exeter 'is
getting an additional grant of $8,000
Thos. Pryde, MLA. Huron, received
word the Provincial Grant .nas ;leen
approved for purchase of eight chr-
onic patient beds. A. Provincial grant
of $45,33.3.33 had been announced
earlier.
HEADS SHERIFS
Nelson Hill, ,Goderich .Sheriff of
Huron County, was elected president
of the Ontario Sheriff's Association
at its annual meet held in Toronto.
This is the first time in the' history
of the County that this honor has
been awarded to the sheriff.

In loving memory of Nancy Anna
Gingerich, who passed away in Blake
on Thursday, January 15th, 1953 in
her 84th year. The'remains were
laid to rest in the Amish Mennonite
Church, Bronson line, on Sunday,

HURON'S NEW WARDEN
Alvin W. Kerslake, 38 -year-old
Reeve of Hensel], was elected warden
of Huron County on IVionday at the
opening session of Huron County
Council. He defeated Reeves Stanley
Snyder of Colborne Twp. and G. W.
Gowdy, of Howick Twp. for the
Wardenship of 1953. Warden Kers-
lake is one of three youngest county
officials ever to hold the top council
post. Others were Alex. Alexander,
of Grey Twp, in 1;945 and B. W.
Tuckey in 1943. When wardens they
were the same age as Warden 'Kers-
