Mrs. Agnes McConnell
Funeral service was conducted on
Tuesday Dec. 30, for Mrs. Agnes
McConnell, Varna, who passed a-
way ,in•••Clinton Public Hospital, on
Saturday, Dec. 2Oth. Tne ninorat
service was conducted from her late
home by Rev. T. J. Pitt, Varna Un-
ited Church, with burial in Bayfield
Cemetery'. The pall -bearers were L.
Johnston, Er. McClinehey, H. Elliott,
Wilf. Chuter, Fred McClymont and
Wm McAsh. The deceased who was
81 year, of age, was born on the
;Goshen Line, Stanley Township, and
shad been a life-long resident of the
Varna District.. Her •husband, Alex-
ander McDonnll, died five years ago
Mrs. McConnell was a member of the
Varna United Church and is survived
by one daughter Mrs. J. W. As'go,
Toronto; One son, Lee McConnell,
Varna, and a brother, Allan (Esser),
Camrose, Alberta.

very vividly, that while driving to
Dublin to take the train to Toronto
and Montreal for their wedding trip,
it was lovely mild weather, farmers
were still out plowing. Their family
consists of a son, Stanley; three eatt-
ghters, Mrs, M, Traquair, Mrs.
Horton and Mrs. C Stoneman, all of
llensell and vicinity.
25 huntrrws from Kippers and Hen -
sell went on a rabbit drive on Box-
ing Day and brought home 15 rab-
bits and one fox. They report the
rabbits are not so plentiful this year.

Ellis upon her retirement from teach
ing and presented her with a revised

The town hall was packed to cap-
acity Wed. eve., Nov. 26 for a rec-
eption foe :sir and Mrs Lard. Corbett.
(nee Dorothy McNaughton). Dur-
ing the course of the evening they
were presented with a chrome kitch-
en set. Homer Tinney doing the hon-
ors. Desjardine Orchestra furnished
the dance music.
