Thursday. They were visiting with
Mr and Mrs Clayton F. Pfile and

Council Meets
A meeting of the G. B. Council
was. held Oct. 7, at the hone of the
i'^eve, H. Gill, owing to illness of
latter. A by-law was passed ap-
pointing Harper Goderich, as auc°ltor,
Mr. Attr: ';e having resigned. A 'by
law was passed prohibiting fire in the
streets and roads of the village, also
on the beach..
A. notice of appeal has been lodg-
ed with the Council by Mrs. Gertrude
Rutherford and Mrs Marjorie Wilson
complaining that their asaessm orris
pertaining to their properties are too
high and the assessments pertaining
to other properties are too low.. The
matter will be dealt with the court
judge.

of the G. 13. Women& instirute for
Sept., taken by Mrs. Harold Wolper.
Mrs. 'Wainer gave .x history of C. 13.
compiled and written by Mr: Mary
Turnbull, as well as many interesting
Current Events. Over $60 was coll-
ected for the Canadian institute for
the Blind on the tag day held at the
end of August according to a report
by the Secretary. The roll call was
answered by 'members naming antiq-
ues in their homes and showing their
first photos.

Late Mrs. Harry Arnold
'Mrs. Harry Arnold, prominent re-
sident of Hensall for the past 60 yrs.
died at her home, in her 86th year.
She was in failing health for .some
time. The former Annie Jeanette Rob
son, she was born in the Ailsa Craig
area, and •came to 'Hensall as a bride,
where her late husband owned a
private bank, later changing to the
Bank of Montreal, which he managed
for years. Mrs. Arnold was a member
of •Carmel Presbyterian Church and
organized the Arnold Circle Auxiliary
which was nomed after her, also a
ife member of the WMS. Survivnig
s a sister, Miss Stella Robson, Tor-
nto. Public funeral was held from
lie family residence with Rev. 7, t ,
ox officiating, Burial was in Wood -
and cemetery, London.
