tiful post card scenery 'photo from
Zurich, Switzerland, addressed to
the Editor of the Zurich Herald and
sent by Miss Helma Sippel of Detroit
but a former resident of Zurich, and
strange to say, her home was the id-
entical one now occupied by this
Editor of the Herald. Miss Sippel 1.1
on vacation to the Continent, and
enjoying herself immenselly,
writes: "Spending a few days here
and feeling very much at home in
this beautiful city." The postcard is
indeed a most wonderful scenery with
the high white mountain peaks in
the distant background, and the city
looks quite modern.
CLASSES CONFIRMED
The Most Reverend John C. Cody,
Bishop. of the Diocese of London,
confirmed 11 girls, 20 boys,ancr two
adults at St. Boniface R. C. Church
Zurich on Tuesday evening, and 20
girls, 212 boys and one adult at St.
Peter's Church, St. Joseph. The Con-
firmation Class looked lovely as teey
marched, in their attire from the
town. hall, up to the church about
7.30, and it was a great day in the
iistory of their lives, to have this
sacred rights performed to them hy
the Diocesian Bishop. who was as -
ted by by the Rev. Fr. J. J. McCormiek,
London; the Rev. Fr. H. T Fallon,
Forest; the Rev J. M. Fogarty, Mt.
Carmel; the Rev. Fr. M. D. Monaghan
Zurich; the Rev Fr. J. McCowell, St,
Columban; and the Rt. Rev. Fr.
William Bourdeau, of the St. Joseph
Parish.
OBITUARY
Mrs. Magdelena Erb
Mrs. John Erb, who was born in
Hay Township 87 years ago and
spent her lifetime there, died after
a short illness, on Friday, October 17,
at the home of her son, Mr an a Mee.
