turned from Kentucky where they
spent a' week attending the races.
They report good weather. Mr. Mc-
Ilroy's pacer, Twinkle, has :been rac-
ing in Detroit and has done very wel
corning in first fin a 2.Q7 heat.
Mrs. Eccleston has arrived in Swit-
zerland after a perfect flight. One
day's delay in plane connections gave
her a day in London. She is attend-
ing the :M.R.A. ;Conference, which.
has its headquarters in Geneva. After
two weeks in' Switzerland, she intends
taking short trips to Holland and
other points of interest before retur-
ning for a longer visit in England.
Mrs. John Hunt, who has just re-
turned from Newfoundland, re visit-
ing the Misses Hagan in Oakwood.
Mr and Mrs MacGregor of Green
Acres, have returned home after an
extended tour through the Canadian
West.

their guests, members of the Grand
Bend iSociety President, Mrs. W.
Mack, was in charge and inspired
the meeting with helpful thoughts.

bers Mrs. E. DesJa.rdine spoke a few
cheering words. Guest speaker was
Mrs, (Rev.') Snell- of Exeter, who
gave a very fine address on "Thank-
ful Living,"
WINNER OF COTTAGE
Exeter — Winner of the dream
cottage drawn at a bingo attended
by snore than 2,400 in the Exeter
Arena, was A, Payton, R.R. 1, St.
Marys. Exeter and Grand Bend Lions
clubs sponsored the draw for the cot-
tage which was built during the sam-
rner in ,Southcett Pines, Grand Bend.
Proceeds will be donated to the S.
Huron Hospital Fund. Miss Catherine
Regis, Sarnia, won $400 and Miss. A.
Morock, Waterloo St., London, won
a car in the bingo which was sponsor-
ed by the Exeter Legion.

ive of the Huron Local District 15A
of theOntario Public Schorr Men
Teachers' Federation, planned a full
meeting for some time in November
It is expected that Win Davies, Tor-
onto, Secy-treas of the group, wrtl be
guest .speaker at the meeting.

•Complimenting• Miss Nora Sang-
ster, bride -elect of the month, Mrs.
Wrn. Lee was hostess at her home for
some 70 relatives, neighbours and
friends of the bride -elect to honor
her with a presentation. The affair
was arranged 'by Mrs. Ron. Mon. and
Miss Mary Goodwin, featured a per-
iod of contests including dressing up
the contestants in :brides' costumes
with .newspapers. During the evening
Norma . was made the presentation of
many beautiful and costly gifts in -
eluding a tri -light floor lamp, elec-
tric sandwich grill, wall mirror, flan
nellette sheets, and many fine artic-
les.

Kippers, and pupil at Hensari Public
School, was admitted to Clinton Hos-
pital the result of an accident while
working with an electric saw in the
barn on his fathers farm.he suiTer-
