Mrs. -Ray Fisher, has recent/3, re-
turned from his trip out West by
auto, along with some other boys ol.

were out there assisting in the harvest
and had a fine time helping with the
big crop of that massive country.
Bank Tellers Move
Tellers at the Zurich Branch of the
Bank of Montreal have made a move
as designated from headquarters. Mr
Robert Bell, whose home is in Des-
boro, and who has been teller in
Zurich the past ten. months is shifted
to Brampton, while his place is being
taken by Don Shanhare who comes,
here from the Crediton Branca, and
whose home is in Clinton.
Have Moved to Hay Twp.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Gacestetter,
former well known Zeirich resfdents,
have moved from Muirkirk, Ont.,
where they had been residing for the
past few years to their ftew name
purchased in Hay Township, in the
south easterly part of the Township.
Their address is R.R.1, Exeter. We
welcome them back to this district.
Muirkirk is located along the Lake
Erie district, west of St. lenomas.

Mrs. Celina. Ayotte of town left
on Tuesday for London, where she
will become a guest at The House of
Providence, a home for elderly people
and we know Mrs. Ayotte will ne a
i big asset to that institution with ner
cheerful and whitty disposition, and
always ready to talk about the more
essential things of life. We hope
Mrs. Ayotte will enjoy this place, as
age does creep up on us and we are
not as active as we were some years
ago. , ••• . ••... .•
Evangelical Church
The Brotherhood (Men's Organ-
ization) of the local Evangelical U.B.
Church will have charge o.-Vne.
church service next Sunday evening,
Oct. 190 at 7.30 o'clock. This Iwo -
gram is in keeping with the annual
observance of a "Men's: Day" in -all
the Evangelical U.D. churches every-
where. One of the main reaturee of
this service will be special singing by
the Zurich Male Chorus. Other
features are also being planned.
A good program is assured.
Lions Club News
Lions At Social Supper
Last Thursday evening the local
Lions had their social supper in the
lovely cottage of Lion Earl: Weide',
at Shade View Grove. This evening's,
social came about as a result of the
draw at the -Frolic of Labor Day,
when previous sides were cnooen to
sell tickets on the draw, and the los-
ing side supplied the supper, and it
always takes a lot of food to feed
these hungry Lions end they really
had a good replenishing. The peen-
ing was spent in a nice social manner.

Mrs. Elizabeth Thiel
Mrs. Elizabeth Thiel, 87, wno died
at her home in Zurich, on Wednesday
October 8th, was a native o: Hay
Township and had lived all her life
in this district. Her husband Henry
Thiel, died some years ago. Surviv-
ing are two sons, Julius A., Zurich,
Fred, London;; and three dangaters,
airs, Emma Bloch, Mre. Joh' (a11-
man and Mrs. Marie Hess, zurich.
The remains rested at the 'Westlake
Funeral Home, where private semic-,
e$ were held on Saturday at 2 p.m.
by the Rev. E. W. ,Heimrich, inter-
ment was made in the St. Peter's
Lutheran ,Cernetery.

ive shower held in St. Andrew's
United Church, Kippon, Monday ev-

hundred, and arranged by Miss Vona
Caldwell and ?dr. Rog. Porter. Mrs.
Harry Caldwell acted as chuirindy
for a musical program which irricludo.d

and Miss Edith Love; rued other in-
teresting numbers Mrs. R. Broadfoot
conducted community singing, This
was followed with an impromtu po-
i gram. Miss Love. was the recipient

presentations by Ruth Ann Jarrott,

vention in Park St. United Ohm -eh,
Chatham, over the week -end of. Oct-
ober 17, 18, and 10. The theme
which has been chosen is "Jesus Sav-
iour Pilot Me" with Rev. Anorew D.
Boa, minister of Empress Ave., Un-
ited Church, T indon, as guest speak-
er. To this convention will conte del-
egates from the 'nine Presbyterree of
the conference. It is anticipated that
about 700 Young People will be in
attendance at the convention - young
people who are going to this 'conven-
tion to try and get an answer that
they too, can de their small part in
showing others that Christianity has
the answer for the, problem and
choatic conditions of the world to-
'. day,
