Mr and Mrs R. F. Stade of town,

M s. Herb Kraft of Detroit, have re-
turned from a lovely motor outing.
They went east as far as 'Peter-
borough then north to North Bay by
way orf Algonquin Park, on through' to Ste St. Marie, and returning home
by way of the States. They enjoyed
* the scenery very much along the
way and are much refreshed by the
fine outing.

for a year and a half on leave of ab-
sence from her country. Her appoint-

Cartoon and Two Additional Shorts
A delightful time was enjoyed last
Thursday evening, July 31, at the
home of Mr and 'Mrs James itannie,
when the relatives gathered to sur-
prise the latter on her birthday with
a lovely lace table cloth and with
a double surprise to her, she was
given a handsome wrist watch from
her husband James. Words failed to
express thanks for all the valuable
gifts given to her at this time so un-
expectedly. Pictures were taken and
a happy social evening was enjoyed
together. Delicious refreenments
were served, among them an attract-
ive birthday cake and ice cream, a-
long with .other dainties suitable for
the occasion. The addreee was read
by Mrs Ellwood Truemner.. The gifts
were presented by her husband and
Carol Reichert. After a pleasant
time together all left for their !tome
