Want to Keep
YOUR Freedom?
We like to sing about .this .Canada of ours being. ."the true North
rising free." It is a fine sentiment, and on the whole it bas been
quite true.
But our freedom is a thing which needs constant care rest It die
here as it has died in-eo, many other countries througltokt'history.
•
"We Cannot, enjoy' true freedom as a people'uniess we insist upon.
personal freedom. We loose personal freedom, and .so contribute
to the downfall of all freedom, every time We ask Governments to
plan or regdlate our lives.
Collective bargaining; the right to dispose of our services and our
property as we see .fit; the .right ta..freedom : of assembly, speech
and worship—all these , we enjoy, because- ,freedom: -loving inldivi-
' Ala%4ought and, if riecessary,Ydi'ed for them. -
I£' we want to keep our freedom we must have bhe same courage
and resolution.

Had Decoration Service
Decoration iservices were held on
Sunday June 29, at the Evangelical
U.B. ,church cemetery on the Goshen
line. Rev. J. H. Getz, pastor, was the
chairman. The Dashwood Band and
the church choir furnished the music.
Rev, Howard Brox of SebrLrrgviile
very fittingly challenged the large
number present to meet the problems
of life new as those had met their
problems in the drays gone by. The
1953 service will be held on the first
Sunday inSeptember to avoid con-
flicting with those of Grand Trend,
Zurich, +Crediton and Exeter, since
many here have interests there.

A PUBLIC SERVICE CAMPAIGN
That the Threat of inflation in
Canada is still very real is tee (opin-
ion of those who speak with wither.
ity in such matters. The fact there
are still strikes and threats of strikes
despite. falling -retail prices, falling
industrial production, and the high-
est. industrial wages in our liietor•y,
make it apparent that rhe ueortoinic
authorities are.correat in tiller appra-
isal. It is'hopeful therefore, teat '.l'he
Steel Company of Canada, Ltd.,should
have chosen this time to publish in
Ontario weekly ' newspapers a• series
of aadvertiseanents dealing with cur-
rent economic problems. 'I'4es ad-
vertisements have nothing to do with
the steel industry dustry as each. .ach. 'They are -
.designed to ,give Canadians a setter
understanding of the economic forc-
es (which govern onr way of life.
It is evidence of the constructive
rend of business thinking• that this
largest of Canada's steel producers
should have undertaken this form of
public service at this critical time in
our histors..
