munity Centre last Friday evening

United States Marines
Detroit, Mich — Marine Second
Lieut. Orval J. Corriveau, son of Mr
and Mrs Peter Corriveau; 4428 Drex-
el, Detroit, formerly of Zurich, Ont.
was promoted to his present rank
from Sergeant Major on May list.
Corriveau, a veteran of over 12 years
in the Marine Carps, was overseas
in the Philippines where he fought
wntil Corregidor full. He was tater
nnprisoned by the Japanese at
id Prison and Cabanaituan rn the
Philippines and Kan ioka, Japan.
After three and one half years In a

gned to recruiting duty in Detroit.

again. This time it it the Canadian
drama league. It had no money. It
wanted to make extravagant awards
The brewer has lots of money. He
would underwrite the financial needs
of the drama league. The price he
asked was that the trophy should
bear his name. The drama league
succumbed to the brewer's teraptat-
ation. So now it will not be the Gov-
ernor
overnor :General's trophy but the bre-
wer's trophy that will be the award
