The Voice of Temperance The legality of bottle clubs has been called in question. It looked as if they were going to get away with their evasion of the law. Their mem- bers bought tickets. With -these tick- ets they purchased their liquor. There was no money transacted for liquor and so the law was not broken. The tickets camouflaged the infraction of the law. Now the officers of the law have decided that the camouflage is too thin. 'They have challenged the validity of the !bottle club. It remains to .be seen whether lane breakers can make a fool of the law, or_whether the Intent anal purpose of the law is tei`'li& uilL" ieil e--,Alot.. HOCKEY -NEWS Locals Win and Loose Win and loose is the slogan of all good sportsmanship, and that is what makes things interesting and multit- udes of people gather to personally see just who is the winner and who is the looser. Our Hockey team. ,lust at the moment is tone ;game behind, but who knows what it will be before the 24i -hour day is over, as they again tangle with the Mildmay Monarchs in the best four of seven games in the play-offs. The first game at Walker- ton last Wednesday night saw the local defeated 3-1, then the return game at ,Lucan on Friday night, when around 1700 spectators jammed the arena to • see Zurich come through with a 4-0 shutout at which the win- ners dominated the play most of the time. Jaks Barnes the Zurich goalie really was hot, as the saying goes, in fact the whole team was in prune form, and it looked as if they were master of the opponents, but then on Monday night at Walkerton, Ville t they played a go,d game, yet ttmeV Gthristianea and Salvation of Unsaved. i found it difficult to ;core in the lar - Come, (Praying for Revival o f "0 Lord, revive Thy Work." Hab.3:2ger sheet of ice, which that rink has. Of course we cannot predict now the game will go this Wed. evening at Luean. We hope our boys can cone though to stay in the running. A team anust win four games to be the champion. Mildmay has a sturdy well balanced team and are arways in there. They play the game a bit rougher than around here, that was in evidence at the Lucan game ween the referee put their men off for roughing it ap*at one time they had only three inen besides the g acre on the ice. Zurich also had its share of penalties. The scorers for Zurieh in the Liman game were Baird 2, h ese 1, and, that „sensational goal atter 7 seconds of play by Barash. In the Monday eve game at Walkerton, the locals did not sere until the last in- ning when McKinley found the net, followed by Barash from Gignac, but,. the 1llildrnay .boysss were too, far ahear,d, land played ,a strong defensive wane. t Farm Forum The Unique Farm Forum met at Mr and Mrs. Cliff Pepper's to re- organize for the 1952-53 Farm For- um season.
