County Approves Pension Plan
By a recorded vote of 23-8 Huron
County Council in the Nr 7 ember me-
eting endorsed the recommendation
of the warden's 'committee to auth-
orize a biy-lay providing for reserve
fund to be set up for retirement of
county employees. It was pointed nut
that the cost to the county is the sone
as a pensi;n plan either with annu-
itiee or insurance coanpenies. County
Clerk J. H. Erskine stated that there
are 30 permanent employees. The
cost would be $3,300 a year. -- We
have been wondering how about the
forgotten retired township Clerks in
the County, who have given the hesti
of their iyears and time, and in most;
cases receive only a paltry- allow-'
ance for their work, which has taken
many hours of midnight stuiying to
keen rip with all the new regulations
coming about. It would perhaps bo
a good thing if each Township would
create such a fund which would cost
little each year, and would be some
encouragement to these usually full-
time men.
