Zurich Worriens' Institute will hold
the opening meeting of the fall sea-
son in the Town Hall on Monday,
Oct. 8 bh in the evening at 8.30 p.m.
Guest speaker will be Reeve Earl
Campbell. Will all members try to
attend and bring a member or visitor
with you. The troll call will he "How
to keep your Husband Happy". Com-
mittee in charge; Pres. Mrs. Gus
Roche, Mrs. Lawrence Regier, Mrs C.
L. Smith.
Contest Winners
Public speaking contest winners at
Zurich Fall Fair were. Joyce Fisher,
eldest daughter .of Mr and Mrs. Ray
Fisher, .Zurioli who spoke on "Con-
verSation" winning .first prize; Paul
Watson, son of Mr and Mrs William
Watson, R.R. 3, Zurich whose topic
was 'Jesuit. Missionaries" won sec-
ond prize . Contestants were judged
on material, posture, voice and deliv-
ery. We extend congratulations.
WINNERS AT BINGO
Zurich Lions Club staged a Mon-
ster Bingo in the Arena on Monday
night ,with, approximately 500 at-
tending. Albert C. Rock, Dublin, a
veteran of the First World War walk-
ed away with the $500 Jackpot.
Other major winners were: $100 to
Denis Denaiame, Drysdale; $75. to
Miss IVIary Mae Fisher of Zurich; $50
was shared hy. Mrs. Frank Dixon, of
Clinton and;two others; $15 winners
were Mrs. R. 3. Paterson, Hensall,
Thos. Butt, t IUppen. Proceeds will
be used to Purchase 'equipment for
the boys and girls iband being •organ-
ized..

McPherson - Dagg
'Teeswater - An arch of evergreen
boughs and baby 'mums formed the
setting at the home of the bride for
the .ceremony in which Marlyn Alo
Dagg and Douglas William IVIcPher-
son exchanged vows before the Rev.
David J. Proctor. The bride is the
daughter of Ernest Milton Dagg of
Teeswater, and the late Mrs. Dagg,
and the groom is the son of Mr and
Mrs. Fred IVIePherson, Teeswater.
The bride's !brother, Milton Dagg,
played traditional wedding music.
Given in marriage by her father, the
bride wore white slipper satin, fash-
ioned with a standup collar, tapered
sleevus, and carried a shower of Bet-
ter Times roses and fern. Miss Twula
Dagg was her sister's only attendant
and Lloyd McPherson was his broth-
er's ,groomsman. After a reception at
Pleasure Valley Lodge, the couple
left tor a trip to Northern Ontario
and Haliburton district. On their re-
turn the couple will live on the
groom's farm near Belmore.
Hess - McDougall '
Autumn shades in gladiolo were
illuminated by white tapers at the
home of Mr and Mrs. Harry G. Hess
of Zurich, for the wedding of Dor-
othy Isabel McDougall and Gordon
Harry Hes. Rev E Heimrich perfor-
med the ceremony with Miss Audrey
Heimrich, pianist, and Mrs. Jack
Dickins, soloist.
The bride, daughter of Mr and
Mrs. Honton McDougall, Hensall,
wore white slipper satin with Queen
Elizabeth collar and peplum outlined
by Cha.ntill lace. A .cathedral veil of
French illusion was caught by a braid
ed satin ,bandeau and her ,colonial
bouquet was of red roses.
The bride's sister, Mrs. R. W.
Freele, was matron of honor, in a
gown lof apple green net over taffeta
with matching braided bandeau and
colonial bouquet of yellow roses.Sim-
ilarly styled were the bridesanaids'
gowns, Miss Pauline Hess, in naize
and Miss. Betty McDougall, in orch-
ard, with colonial bouquets of lyellow
roses and orchid chrysanthemums. R.
W. Freele was best man with Hub-
ert Schilbe, usher.
Reception was held at the Domin-
ion Hotel, Zurich, with the bride's
mother in powsler blue net with navy
accent 4 and corsage of pink roses,
and the groom's Mother in taupe with
grey and yellow chrysanthemums.
For a wedding trip to Northern
Ontario, the bride traveled in a navy
gabardine suit with navy and pink
accents and a corsage of pink roses.
Upon their return, the couple will
reside in Zurich.
