Fiftieth Anniversary
GOLDEN WEDDING
A very happy event took place at
the hone of Mr and _Mrs. Henry
Steinbach of town on Sunday, Sept-,
ember 23rd when their family, grand-
children, Pastor and Mrs. Heimric:h,
relatives and friends joined with
them to celebrate their fiftieth wed-
di'ng anniversary.
Mrs. Steinbach, who before her
marriage was Mary Reichert, daugh-
teir of the late Mr and Mrs. Henry
Reichert, was born and raised on the
Parr Line, Hay Township, Fifty
years ago, September 2 -5th, at the
home of her parents, she was united
in marriage to Henry Steinbach,son
of the late Mr and Mrs Hertuyn Stein-
bach, fourteenth Concession, Hay
Township. The bridesmaid, Mrs. John
Richardson, of Hensall, was present
for the anniversary celebration while
the groomsman, Mr. Hartman Stein-
bach of Detroit, brother of the
groom, was absent. After their mar-
riage they moved to the groom's
farm, fourteenth Concession, Hay,
where they farmed successfully for
twenty-five years, later moving to
Zurich ,where they still reside. They,
are both in moderately good health.
This union was blessed with a
family of four sons: Theodore of
near Zurich; Orville, Leonard and
Karl of London, who, with their•fam-
ilies helped to make this anniversary
a memorable event.
At noon, the table was centred
with a three-tier wedding cake which
was prepared by the bride. It was
surrounded by tall yellow tapers and
yellow baby mums, which were a
gift from the Ladies' Aid of St. Pet-
er's Lutheran Church of which Mrs.
Steinbach is a member.
During the dinner, the family
preieented their parents with a tri -
light lamp. Their sons Theodore
and Kari making the presentation to
which Mr and Mrs. Steinbach favour-
ably replied.
From three to five in the afternoon
tea was served to a large number of
friends who carne to extend hearti-
est -congratulations. Mrs. Rudolph
Stade, sister of t:he groom of fifty
years and. Mrs. Edward Haberer, sis-
ter of the bride .poured tea. ,lar.
and Mrs.; Steinbach received guests,
Mrs Steinbach wearing a dress of
grey faille; with a corsage of red rose
buds and gold ribion. Following the
tea, supper was served after which
