The hot weather the past -week has
greatly ripened the wheat, and many
fields have been cut, and it provers to
be a vel& good crop. Haying is a-
bout a thing of the past now, as the
hay is showing the worse of the wet
spell we have come through.
HAD PJICNIC
The Evangelical S. S. held their
picnic at Jlowett's Grove, Bayfield,on
Wednesday afternoon. A splendid
time was enjoyed and plenty of sports
and good eats along with lots of ice
cream which is always a favourite
of all. Mr. Milton Oesch, President
of the S. S. did his best to have all
comfortable, and for a pleasant out-
ing. The weather being ideal.
OBITUARY
James T. Jarrott
James T. Jarrott, 89, prominent
farmer of Hay Township, died sudd-
enly in Scott Mein. Hospital, Seaforth
on July 5th, as a result of 'a sieart
condition. He had been a patient in
the hospital since the previous Satur-
day. Five years ago Mr. Jarrott had
his leg amputated and had been in
good health since. He was a member
of St. Andrew's United Church, Kip -
pen. Surviving are two sons, John
and Eldon, Hay Twp; two daughters,
Mrs. Hugh Love, Hensall and Mrs.
Harry Norris, Tuckeismith; one bro-
ther, Norman and a sister, Mrs. Dan
Sanders, both of London. The rema-
ins rested at the Bon'thron Funeral
Honie, Hensall where private funeral
service was held ion July 7th, with in-
terment in Bayfield cemetery. Rev.
A. E. Hinton, Kippen officiated.

The bride wore a finger tip veil of
Swiss net caught up with a pearl
trimmed cornet and she wore a pearl
necklace (a gift loif the groom.) She
carried a bouquet of red roses and
white canations wth maiden hair fern
The anaid of honor was a niece of the
bride, Mies Betty Prance, of Thed-
ford. She was gowned in pink satin
with fitted bodice and puff sleeves and
small buttons to the wastline at back,
identical to the (brides, with a long
full skirt and pink net headdress.S!he
also carried red roses and white car-
nations with .maiden hair fern.
The bride's attendant Miss 'Marg-
aret. Gall, of Grand Bend, niece if
the groom, was in blue sheer net.The
best man was the groom's nephew
Mr. Wm. Gill of Grand Bend. The
Grooan's attendant was Mr. Ronald
Wein of Crediton. Ushers were Har-
old Prance of Thedford, (brother -in -
.law of the bride and Clifton Moore
of Exeter. A delicious turkey dinner
was served to about thirty guests at
the C.P. Chapman. Green Forest
Lodge, Grand Bend. Two waitresses
were nieces of thebride, Miss Shirley
Prance of Thedford and Miss Donna
Bullock of Zurich. The bride'stravel•
ling outfit was a gold ,gabardine suit
with natural straw hat and lace trim -
Med blouse with green. accessories.
The young couple were presented
with a lovely picture Bible, a gift of
the church as they were the second
Couple married in the new church.
Mr and Mrs Donald Dungannon will
reside in Grand Bend.

Donald - Vincent
St. John's by the Lake Church,
Grand Bend, was the scene of a
pretty wedding when Evelyn Mabel
Vincent and !William Donald Dungan
non were united in marriage by the
Rev. Lewin of Pork Franks. The
bride is the youngest daughter of Mr
and Mrs• Norman Vincent Iof Dash-
wood, and the groom is the youngest
son of Mrs. Mary Dungannon and the
]ate..David Dungannon of Northville.
Mrs. Audrey. Moore of Exeter played
the wedding music. The ibni.de walk-
ed to the altar unattended while her
two bridesmaids followed and carried
her long train. The bride was char-
ming in a white bridal satin gown
with fitted bodice and a high neckline
with insets of lace framed by a small
low collar and finished with long
pointed sleeves and small buttons to
the waistline at back. A lace trimm-
ed peplum satin -overskirt lass cut
peplum length in tfront. And in back
extended to form a full Cathedral
train.
