Izher chief minister of the state makes this statement. "Not only has prohibition done no harm, financial, material or moral, but such experience as we have had with it convinces us that it has rendered a great service to the bulk of the people. The gratitude of persons whose lives were formally ruined by Mello], and particularly of their wives and children, is a rewara which we are ,not pi-epared to ex- change for the approval of the ill- informed *enemies of ,prohibition," There speaks a statesmen who puts 'he well-being of his people ---which wan being under -mined by alchol--- before anything else. That's why we are eager to retain the Canada Tem- peranee Act in Huron. It serves the best interests of our poople—not to provide lienor outlets,• • Ativt.
