Some of the pupils made two trips up the two hundred and thirty-five steps to the top, while others decided that su'h dizzy heights were not for them In the beautiful building which ho"sis the Qneenston .power plant we were shown n rrteres t.n and instr- uctional film on how water is trans- formed into hydro power. Naar this same .building we could see the beg- innings of the work the government ie doing building a new and largee power plant. In the middle of a beautiful lawn we saw an Ontario Hydro clock. The face of the clock was made of beds of beautiful tulips. The hands of the clock told the correct time. We were very much puzzled trying to think how they, could run a clock of flowers. When we readied Niagara Falls city, we .applied for admission to see the Shredded Wheat plant. Since on- ly one bus load could go through the factory at a time, the others were able to spend a short time looking through some of the souvenir shops, and tbuy rnomentoes of their trip. We found prices high. A child doll about F' ;ht inches high was priced at $55. However, most of us were able to find something , for much less than that. • At the Nabisco Shreaded Wheat Plant, after each had signed their name in +a register, a lady in a clean white uniform showed us through the factory. We saw the process from the time the wheat is brought into the plant until it is in cartons ready for shipment. The cooking had been done for that day, but we saw the cooked wheat !being pressed ever grooved rollers until. it was strung out :into long shreds. In the next ma- chine these threads were formed into the ,biscuits which we are all famil- iar. The biscuits were then dropped onto a belt and carried into the oven. The lady; told us they move 'back and forth in the oven for more than an hour until they are baked. Next, we saw the boxes (being made ?Paper from huge rollers was fed into a mach'ne that cut it, printed it in the five colours we sen on a shredded r: hent boy, and spit it out, nary to be folded. Women : ,t to rr -fide a conveyer !rc_it on wwlut i the cooked bi-cults were being posed. Ileo'dc them were A number of Chicken Shelters for immediate sale.
