der for the evening, along with soc-
ial chats. Mr. and .Mrs. Seshite have

ments were enjoyed. Mr. 'Conrad
Schilbe, the former's father, of Zur-

Gossixxan, of Port Huron and 'other
guests from Exeter, Croinarty, Lea-
mington, Zurich and vicinity joined
in the happy event. We join all by
wishing Mr. and Mrs. Schilbe many
more years of wedded life.
BUS TRIP TO NIAGARA FALLS
On Friday, May 11, the senior pu-
pils Of Hay Twp. School Area took
their fourth annual sightseeing trip.
We chose to go to Niagara Falls at
t' -is time as Sunday was Blossom
r'unday, and a number of us had
never seen the beautiful Niagara
Peninsula at this time of year. As

The cavptain told us he had taken
a load of grain down to Fort Erie
and was now on his way back up to
the head of the lakes for i cargo of
iron ore. The freighter had eighteen
holds. It was almost as long as the
lock it was in.
Our next stop was at Qneereton
Ieights park. The many well kept
beds of flowers, the acres of fresh-
ly cut lawns, the trees loaded with
lreseo1)1 which lined the lawns, and
the shrubs dotting the landscape,all
helped the beauty of the park. At-,
tractive slate -stone and 'cement. walks
wound throughout the park and led
to all the points of interest in it.
Near the gates of this park stood
a monument. It is in memory of
Laura Secord. She was a brave
, woman when Americans were fight-
ing Canadians. She heard the Am-
ericans planning ail attack. She pre-
tended she •way taiting her cow to
