IMr and Mrs. Allan Fraser of Exe-
ter were Sunday visitors at the home
of Mr. and Mns. Earl Thiel.
Dr. and Mrs. T. P. Keast motored
to St. Catharines on Wednesday,
where Mrs. Keast will visit at the
home of ]ler sister for a few ,days,
also intends to spend several days at
Buffalo, N.Y., before returning home.
Have Moved to Exeter
Mr. and Mrs. .Kenneth Wetier have
moved their household effects to Exe-
ter where the former has accepted a
position.
Mr. Ross •Gascho, son ,of Mr and
Mrs. Norman Gasoho of town, has
been a visitor at his home here. Ross
Inas just 'received his discharge from
the C'nn;,,lian l'?avy, having served

Coast.
Moved In From London
Mx. and Mrs. Alvin Regier who
have been at London for the past
six months, have moved on the `De-
vidson farm,Bronson line south.We
welcome them •bath to the commun-
ity.
Mr. Arthur Fraser of. Exeter was
in town one day last week. Mr.
Fraser is the secretary treasurer of
the Usborne & Hibbert Fire Insur-
ance Co., a very capable assistant
on making out Income Tax papers,
along with several other things which
keeps him a very 'busy man. And
by-the-way-Apri.l. 30th is the dead-
line for making out your1950 In-
come papers. If you neglect it may
be too !bad for you.
Off to Conference
Rev. H. E. Roppel, pastor of the
Evangelical U. B. church of town,
and A. Melick, layman, left early in
the week for Pembroke where they
will attend the annual sessions of
the Canada 'Conference of that de-
nomination. Thislbeing the second
time the Conference is being held in
the Ottawa Valley district, it is a-
bout 400 miles from here, and takes
a good day's motoring to get there.
The Sunday morning service in the
local church will ,be in charge of Mr.
Daniel Stauffer of Bright, Ont., who
will. take up the temperance subject.

This is the week most farmers had

FOGHORN CHIEF 36 YEARS
Goderich — Capt. Bert MacDonald
after 36 years as operator of the
foghorn, is retiring and will be suc-
ceeded by Lig4hthouse Keeper Reg.
Needham, :.r. ,.[acDonald 'helped to
install the foghorn after the great
storm on November 111, 1913, and
has been on duty since, .24 hours a
clary ,during the navigation season.
NURSERY INDUSTRY STARTED
With the arrival of a shipment of
700 young nursery trees from Holl-
and, Dr. E. A. McMaster is making
preparations to start a new nursery
industry in Seaforth. The new trees
will be foundation stock for planting,
and will 'be grower on Dr. McMaster's
property on east Goderich Street,and
include a wide variety of ornamental
trees.
