a building lot from Mr. Louis Prang
in the southerly part of town, and
intends to build a dwelling thereon
in the near future.
Returned from Hospital
Miss Elizabeth Truemner has re-
turned to the residence of her sister

a patient at Clinton Hospital. We
are pleased to report she is getting
along nieely.

•Mrs.• T envy, Schenk, of Thedford,
nee Pearl, Witmer; only daughter of
Mrs. David Witmer and the late Mr:
David Whiner, who was born in Hay
Township, Babylon line, died in the
Strathr4'y Hospital, in her -544th year.
Surviving are her husband and one
daughte : Jean at home. Four broth-
ers, Hebert of Waterloo, Harold.of
Kitchenr, Wesley of Exeter, William
of Zurieli„ and her mother of Thed-
ford.On The' funeral was held at Thed-
ford on(Monday afternoon at 1.30 p.
m. interment in Crediton cemetery.

Town Hall, 'Monday evening, April
9th. Mrs. Thomas Meyers was in
charge of the program. Meeting open-
ed with the Institute Ode, followed
by the Lord's Prayer in unison. Miss
Marilyn +Haberer and Miss Katherine
Kalbfleisch rendered several Iovely
piano duets, followed by several so-
los by Donna Oesch, accompanied at
the piano by her mother, Mrs. Milton
Oesch. Community sing -song was
enjoyed by one and all.. Mrs. Meyers
read "The History of Bread" and the
"Discovery of Butter."
A short .bus•ines period followed;
treasurer's report and minutes of the
previous meeting were read, approv-
ed and passed. Roll Call "Why I Like
to be an Institute -Member" answered
with many exceptionally good re-
plies. Two members were appointed
to attend the Provincial Conference,
at Guelph, to be 'heldon Ma ,y 2nd, 3,
and 4th. Reports on the District An_
nual Convention of The W. I., to be
held at Elimville, April .23rd.
The year's treasurer's report and
summary report by various standing
committees were read. Procedure and
election of officers for the coming
year presided by Mrs. Kirkland, Dis-
trict President. Mrs. Kirkland gave
a very interesting outline on the
work and reasons for such work in
the various Institute branches, stres-
sing that we are a democratic organ-
ization and should work as such.

findings of a survey of teen-age
drinking. The over-all answer was
"No drinking trouble." "Canadian
hone life by and large, doesn't seem
to be a story of lurid newspaper
headlines and young delinquents."
A Charlottetown mother who doesn't
believe that drinking contributes to a
