NEW SCHOOL ABOUT READY
The new Exeter Public .School buil-
ding is about ready for use soon af-
ter the Easter holidays arid the teach-
ing staff and pupils are anticipating
into the modern building which is
nearing •completion. The date i or, the
official ,opening has not been set. but
it is expected it will be early in April.
OBITUARY
Late Johanna Melick
Mrs. Johanna Wurtz Schultz, aged
74, passed away at the Schilling:Nur-
sing Home, Pigeon, Mich., on Wed-
nesday, March 14, after an iilnpss of
ten years. Mrs. Schultz was 14iiii in
Zurich on Sept. 30, '1i876, antras
married to Jacob Wurtz on Oct. 19,
1895. ;lir. Wurtz came from Credit
on. They moved to Windsor Twp.,
Mich., in 1902, and settled on a farm
three miles south of Pigeon. t'•
Wurtz passed away on Nov. 19,.1928
and in 1930 she married Henry
Schultz, who predeceased her in Jan-
uary 1948. She leaves to mourn her.
loss two daughters, Mrs. Ada Maerile
of Windsor •Twp., .Mich; and Mrs.
Greta Eichler of Chandler Twp; 3
sons, Erle Wurtz .of Fairview, :Mich;
and Floyd and Leonard sof California•
There are 18 grandchildren and ,n16
great-grandchildren; also two sisters
Mrs. Georgina ,Merner of Hensall and
Mrs. Isaac Hudson of Seaforth, and a
brother, Alfred Melick of Zurich. De-
ceased was a member of Pigeon Me-
thodist Church and took an active
part in all the work of the church.
A private funeral service was field
from the home 'of Mr and ?vlrs. Ezra
llaerile on Friday, March 11i, at 2
p.m. with interment in Pigeon cem-
etory.

Thursday,. March 22nd. When he
was subjected to what the doctor
thought a heart seizure. He was in
his usual health and active as usual,
and was found in a stricken condit-
ion. Was in his 60th year, and was
well known in Zurich having been an
employee in the Kalbfleisch Mills for
a number of years. Was unmarried.
Survived by two brothers, and two
sisters, Robert of Bayfield; Harold,
of Stanley Township; Mrs. Thomas
Snowden, (Oleva), ,of Stanley Twp;
Mrs. Alfred Westlake (Grace), of
Bayfield. The remains rested at the
residence of his sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Snowden of the Blue Water
Highway, Stanley ,from where serv-
ices Were held on Monday March 2!6,
at 2.30 ,p.m. with interment in ,the
Bayfield ,Uni!on Cemetery. Rev. P.
Renner of Bayfield, officiated.
HOCKEY NEWS
Although the hockey season is
over, Zurich still has one team in the
running, "The Zug Pee Wees," a
team of young tell 's under twelve
years of,e, W1710 Are taking part in
the Young Canada Week, which is
currently being heldin the Goder-
ich Memorial 4ena. On Tuesday
afternoon the 1:ocal "kids" tangled
with Teeswater ,Pee Wees and after
46 ,niinutes and 12 seconds of over-
time the locals came out on the top
end of the score with a 4.3 tally.

day when he scored the winning goal

It was D'oii third goal of the. game,
the biller goal being scored by Edgar
Wi Ier't. The kits have a bye to the
nextound of the tournament for
Wednesday, but play again at 3 o'-
clock Thursday afternoon for the
championship round. Anyone want-
ing to go for a drive on Thursday
afternoon would find it well worth
their while to journey up to Goder-
ieh and watch these youngsters play
hockey–
This Young Canada Week Tourna-
ment is being sponsored by the God-
erieh Lions Club and the boys are
well looked after. The Godcrich Lions
supply the fellows with sandwiches
and chocolate milk, making sure they
don't go home 'hungry. This Hockey
Tournament is one of the largest to
be held in Canada and is certainly a
credit to the town of Gocterrch and
(=oderich Lions Club. A feature
