Fire Alarm On Friday morning the people of Zurich were aroused by the prompt alarm of the fire siren, when Mr and Mrs. Seth Amenns' chimney took fire. With a brisk wind !blowing at the time. Most of our fire men were enjoying an outing +in the Northern hunting ,grounds, with hardly any as+sistaree left in the village, finding the key to the fire hall was the next proiblem, etc. In the mean time Mr. Amens was leaving for work, noticed the flames and with hitt ladder and a barrel of water .within reach, scram- med up the ladder repeatedly with lv:~ r?ilful thereby extirguishin;; the blaze ibefoxe it might reach the roof as the fl:'nxes were shooting high and wild.
