Parish Incidents- Incidents of nearly seventy-five years ago came to light of late, given by one of the parishoners of liths parish which will add greatly to itts history. The citizen in question is Mr. ?Frank Den,omme, a native:born of this parish, 'bolsi ;' +11e i8 ..• t,. 7, 1's c $ 1iis r1 `' •;1 constitution at birth, the parents fearing the same ill fate that had happened to two of their previous children at birth, passing away with- in hours; took immediate steps to have their third r',ild .baptised and since he was born late in the evening and due to slow travelling in those long past years ,it was nearing mid- night idnight when the baptism ceremonies were over. In the same year in Jan- uary the present church bell was in- stalled and christened, name Phite- ineua, those many years ago It was customary to ring the bell at a chr- istening, but at so late an hour, the settlers were much disturbed and annoyed, and quickly they arose from their beds, jumped into their nearest garb and ran over well filled snow roads to the church. Those living at a further dii-tance went on horse back to get there and it was just like a mad rush to see who would get there first. On their arervat they found all in good order. They were informed that a child with a frail eonstutition had been baptised by the parish priest, Father Moran. The church bell Christianed Phil- omena had rang for the first time at the 'baptism:al ceremony of .Mr. Frank Denomme, of Itis parieh; such in- cidents are unique and are worthy ;of passing to the public.
