Had Birthday
The children, and grandchildren of
Mrs. Mary Brenner surprised her on
Sunday by coming to her home with
gilts and food to have a social time
together. It being the occasion_ of
Mrs. Brenner's 87th birthday. Mrs.
Brenner being very grateful for
their presence •and ,enjoyed the day
with her children. We join in wish-
ing her many happy birthdays to-
gether.

of Detroit were week -end visitors
with relati yes and friends.
Mr and Mrs J. Quikley of Detroit
spent a few days in their cottage in
the new summer survey on the high-
way.
On Saturday evening last a very
enjoyable evening was spent at the
home of Mr and Mrs .Louis Du-
charme of the 14th .Concession when
the alchemies tendered an, evening
of pleasiurre to about 75 people, it
being the occasion of their silver
wedding anniversary. All of their
family 'of twelve were present.Those
married aith their better half, be-
sides members of both family. Ne-
edless to say at this rparty there was
much enjoyment. • The thicharme's
were married 25 years ago in this
parish church. Mrs. Ducharene was
before marriage Therese •Screenan,
daughter of the late Mr and Mrs.
Arthur Screenan, long time residents
of the parish: In the wee hours of
of the morning the party formed a
ring and wished the brikle and groom
of 25 -year ago, many more happy
.and prosperous years.

A turkey banquet at the Dominion
Hotel, Zurich, marked the golden
wedding anniversary of IMr ana. Mrs.
Alfred Reichert of 'Hay Township
near Hensall on Wednesday evening,
May 23rd, 1956,1with thirty memb-
ers of the family, brothers and sist-
ers attending. a three tier wedding
cake graced the bridal table flanked
with roses. This was followed with a
reception held in the town hall, Zur-
