Mr and Mrs. Jules Corriveau of
Detroit, spent the week -end with
relatives in this vicinity. Jules deft
these parts for the motor city nearly
thirty years ago, and has •adopted
himself to city life, and is very happy
about it all.

INQUEST REPORT
A coroner's jury ruled on April. 0,
at Hensall that Karl Andersen, 25,
Dashwood, choked to death after
taking ill, probably due to indulg-
ence of alcohol. The man was found
dead' beside hie ear in a ,ddtch near
Dashwood on 'Sunday night, April 1.
Police said he was thrown from the
vehicle when it veered off the road
and rolled over seven -al times. Crown
Attorney Gleam Hays, ea' Goderich
conducted the inquest, and Dr. J. C.
Goddard of Hensall was the presid -
ing coroner. Howard Klumpp of Da.h
wood was jury foreman.
OBITUARY
Brother Dies at London
William Benjamin Elder, London,
passed away on Friday April 6th in
his 63rd year. Born in Hay Town-
ship he farmed extensively. He was
a graduate of the 0.A.C., Guelph,
was secretary-treas. of the Thresher -
men's Ass:edatil>n of Ontario for a
period of years; was a-tive in the
Plowmen's Association, connected
with the Seed Grain 'business exten-
sively,was first president of the k ed-
eration of Agriculture do Hay Town-
ship and instrumental in getting it
organized. He was the son 'of the
late Mr and Mrs John. Elder of Hen-
sall. Surviving are his widow,• two.
sons, and Kenneth Of Hay;
one daughter, Mr;. marling Lund, oP'
Cleveland, Ohio; two brothers, Jack
of Oshawa; and Lorne of Hamilton;
four sisters, Me -s. R. N. Peck, Hen-
sel"; Mrc. A. E. Howe, Hyde Park;
Mrs. Lyle Statham, King-vil1e; and
Mrs. .Delbert Geiger of Zurich. A
private funeral .:ar•vico -was held
from the Pontlu•on Funeral Hoene,
Hensall, 'Monday at '2 p.m. conducted
by the Rev. C. I3B. Daniel, with in-
ternment in Hensall Cemetery.
DIES AT PORT HURON
Word was rcec,!ved here on Mon-
day of the passing of Mr. Albert
Snaith, 75, of Port Huron, Mien. He
had le—eerily undergone an operat-
ion, when corm?lit tion; set in and
he passed a.•vay. Mr. Smith was a
former Zurich y, and was raised
in Hay Te.,,nseie vers in bu.,ir.es in
i ur:,..1 with h° brother-in-law Mr.
Wm. O'Brien ?on,e years ago. A F -
ter this he went to Michigan and
purchased a farm near Crosswell and
was a very progressive farmer, bait
a few years ago when health started
to fail, they moved to Port Huron,
but be kept the farm, having had
it rented out. The funeral is being
held this Thursday afternoon in Port
Huron. Mr and :Mrs. Smiith- were
very •frequent visitors at the O'Brien
home in Zurich, and Mr. Smith was
very fond of hunting, • and enjoyed
the outings with local sportsmen.
