Pleading guilty to impaired driv-
ing, Wafter IMichael Green of Bay-
field was fined $50 and ,costs, or 7
daYs in jail, When he appeared in
C,oiderich court. The .charge arose
out of an accident involving ears
driven by Green and Donald C. Cam-
pbell of `'I3aydield, on the 'Hayfield -
Varna road ,on March 24, Dannage

Carmel Presby. Church Ladies Aid
met in -the church basement on the
12th for their monthly meeting. Mrs
J. Soldan's group were in charge of
the devotional part. After 01e busin-
ess was transacted the meeting dos-
ed with prayer by Rev. MacDonald.
The April meeting will be held at the
home of Mrs. J. Soldan of the , Parr
Line.
Mrs Walter Fairbairn, 80, who
died suddenly at the hoine of her
daughter and son-inelaw, Mr and Mrs
Ross Love, Kippen, Wed. eve. 22nd.

Mary Ellen Roberson, of Tuckersmith
Twp. hollowing her marriage in 1903
they farmed on the town line until
1937 ,When they retired to Hensall,
owing to ill health. She resided with
her daughter for the past three years

Walther League Entertains—
The Walther League of Zion Luth-
eran church entertained the newly
confirmed and the parents of all the
leaguers on Tuedsay, A.pr41 3rd, at
a social evening. 'Ihe committee in
charge was Carol Becker, Leland
Restmayer, Barbara Koehler, Earl
Weiberg, James Becker, Don Gen-
ttner, Pauline Becker and Eleanor
Becker.
The evening was spent in playing
cro•ckinole, winners were: Mrs. Lloyd
Rader and Mr. Fred Wei'berg,
.Milfred ' - -:rner and Arthur Rader.
Mr 'ark Gainer sowed pictures of
recent happenings.
Mr and Mrs Ward Kraft end fam-

with Mr and Mrs. Ernest . Koehler
and family and attended the Willert-
Willert wedding.

delightful time was enjoyed by all.

church surprised Rev and Mrs. L.
Higenell when they gathered at the
parsonage last Wednesday -evening
to present them 'wl:th a gift prior to
their leaving Dashwood. - •
The evening was spent playing

Schroeder; Mrs. M. iMerner read the

Mrs. Edgar Restemayer; asst. Mrs.
Rudolph Midler, card secy., Mrs. Rud-
olph 'Miller. Twenty-five dollars was
voted to aid the bible class in their
purchase of -a Geste.ttner. A special
mission program is to be held once a
month. Invitations are to be sent to
all beginners

Church held their quarterly meeting

Merner presided. The topic "Reach-
ing -Out to Latin America" was given
Eby Rev, L. Higenell. Mary Ann Hay-
ter sang two solos. Mrs. Ervine De-
vine read a !poem "Facing the New
Year" Mrs. Eelgar Restemayer and
Mrs Ervin Devine alternate were
appointed delegates to attend a Mis-
sionary Institute to he held in Kit-
chener in April. Group I served
lunch including a birthday cake for
R.ev. Higenell whose ''birthday was
Feb. 10th.
Prior to her weddinrng of last Sat-
urday Mrs. Vyrne Weido and Mrs
Loud, Weigand -1 were hostesses at a
