Celebrated 50th Birthday A very pleasant evening !wee spent at the home of Mr and Mrs Russell Hayter on ;March 1214th, celebrating the 8.Oth anniversary of Mr. :Henry •Hayter's 'birthday, All of his family •consisting of six sons and three dau- ghters, were present except Florence (Mrs. !Marvin Routson of ;South New Berlin, N.Y.). Progressive euchre was played, then an address was read by Mrs. Wm. Hayter, and a presentation was made by Mrs !Cecil Dowson of many lovely gifts from the family. A delicious lunch was served., M. Centennial News Local Musicians Donate 'Service— The dance held in the Arena on Monday evening was a :grand success. This dance was the opening event on a fund raieing caranaigie to start the Centennial ball rolling.' The local Melody Masters orchestra gave their time freer* and it was accepted with much thanks and our pride in them for their b.generous help; Financially the dance, which was very well at-, tended, was a success largery so be- cause of the free time by the orches- tra and we understand that the wren: board intends to donate the use of the Community Centre, Another such dance is to be held •in the very near future with Desjardine's Orchestra present.
