World tService Day was held by
the World Service Women's Soteiety,
Evangelical U•]3. Church, Zurich on
Sunday morning last. tMiss Olive O'-
Brien opened the service, scripture
lesson was read by Mrs. H. Roppel,
who also led in prayer. The Geiger
and :'VIcClinchey cousins, sixtette sang
'a very appropriate number. Miss 0' -
Brien gave a short reading; Miss
• Game Siebert rendered a solo in Song,
A playlette "The Road to the Best",
taken by Mrs. Peter Gingerich, Miss
Ethel Gabel, Mrs, Laird Jacobe and
Mrs. Newell Geiger. Mrs., Menno
Desch spoke on the theme: "We are
the Church", meaning a.11 Christian
,the
the world over, and their duty
towards God, their homes, church
and tceountry. These numbers were all
impressively tgiven. Everyone pres-
ent. • expressed their feeling that it
was good to be there. As the Master
was with us. A liberal offering was
received for the Missionary cause.

OBITVARY
• Late Wellington Johnston
Wellington "Jack" Johnston, 67,
died at his home in Zurich on Satur-
day, Feb. 11th, 1956. He was a son
of • the late Robert R. Johnston and
Anna Happel. For several years he
was in the meat market business here
and in Hensall.. In 1920 he bought
the Dominion Hotel here which he
oprler•ated until 1945 when his son,
Ron piirchased 'it. Living since in
retirement.
Surviving is his Wife, the former
`lIelvina Koehler, a son, Ross; Zurich-
and a daughter Airs. E. Gemming, of.
,.Rochester, N.Y.; two !brothers, Wm.
S. Johnst3n, Zurich and Orland of
Montreal, and two sisters, Mrs. Mat-
il'da MacKinnon and Mrs. Albert
i Kalbfleisch, both of Zurich. A sister
i Victoria, :predeceased in 1918.
1 A private service was held at the
Westlake Funeral Horne, followed
by a public service in St. Peter's
Lutheran church, Tuesday afternoon.
Interment we.z in the Lutheran cem-
etery, Goshen line. - Rev. 0. 'Winter

a former resident of Zurich, who
was• principal. of Zurich Continuation.
School from 1930 to 1937, received
the degree of Bachol';r of Arts..
Mr Rowe, who now lit, -es at Bolton
Ont., is a teacher in the Vocational
Guidance and Remedial Department
of Brampton District High School.
