A bad winter epidemic of colds is
making its rounds and a patient con-
tracting sande has a big job on his
hands to get around it in a week or
two. It is regrettable, we all talk
about these pesky colds and no one
does a thing about it to prevent them
New Hydro -telephone poles are being
erected around town, as many of the
old ones have served their time of
useafulness, We very well rememb-
er from time to time when these
first poles were put in, and like our
life one generation follows another.
But we imagilne it takes a lot of
real he-man effort to do this w or k
that the linesmen are engaged and
especially these cold wintry days.
TURNIPS CANNED SUCCESS-
FULLY
•
The announcement was made re-
cently by A. H. Wildford, manager
of the (Western. Ontario Trade Fair,
Blyth, that rutabagas, known as tar -
nips, have been successfully canned
and the product has been sent for
official registration which when done
will be the kickoff for a National
Rutabaga Feast. The canning is exp-
ected to expand th.e market 'because
then oversized and spotted skinned
ones can be used for the canning
process.
