back to when Father Monaghan was

1 Mrs. L. A. Birk Dies In Hospital
1 Mrs. Ida Josephine Birk, wife of
'Professor Leonard A. Birk of the U.
• ' A.C., Guelph, and formerly of Dash-
wood, passed`'away at Guelph Genes.

al Hospital on Tuesday December 13,
s following a lengthy illness. 'She was
gin her 53rd year.
s Mrs. Birk who lived in. Guelph
• since her marriage 22 years ago, was
4 an active memiber of Chalmers United
1 Church. She was a past president of

the Hart Auxiliary and the Wardrope
Auxiliary of the •c'hureh and for many
k years sang in the choir of the church
a 1 until ill health forced her to leave.
1 She also •served as a superintendent
• 'of the Brooklyn 1Sunday School prim-
ary department for several years and
at the time of her death was vice-
president of the .Chalmers United
Church Missionary Association.
Born at Dashwood, she moved to
Zurich, where she lived until her
marriage there to Professor Birk who
was on the OAC staff. Her father, the
late Joseph Routledge, was a veterin-
ary in Zurich.

Four years have passed since that sad
day,
The one we loved was called away;
God took him home, it was His will,
But in our .hearts they liveth still.
—Lovingly remembered by wife, sons
daughters and grandchildren.

Surviving besides her husband are
one daughter, Sheila Margaret, 18;
one son, Arthur Routledge, 15; three
brothers, Archie at Regina, cask;
Kenneth at Victoria B.C; and Jack
at Toronto, and one sister, Mrs. Ver-
ner Either (IMaida) of._Northville,
Mich. The funeral was held on Fri-
day at 2 pan. from the ,McIntyre and
1 Wilkie Funeral Hoare with interment
i n Memory Gardens.
