St. Joseph & Blue Water Area
On ;Sunday, October 16th, 111955,
after a long delay the statue of St.
Joseph and Brother Andre, the two
in •one tsar unveiled by the parish
Priest 'Father IP:oiscin and blessed by
Father Rondot of Stony Point, a for-
mer priest of this parish.
Father Rowlot -s.s mach impressed
by the visit of Brother Andre on Oct-
ober 22nd. 191.7. rreatinz a deep
friendshin between the two, and on
October 2i2lyd it is believed that
Father Rondot asked the saintly
Brother to pas a Future visit to this
parish: therefore it was deemed ad•
viseable to bestow this great honor
to Father Rondot to hes the statue.
The day was not as •a summer cta.y,
when we. could exneot the fragrance
of the anmmor roses to pour fon'dh
its scent, and the nothing air to
refresh us: never -the -less. beim a
fall day. we did expert broken wea-
ther that was regardless of it all,
the day was fairly citable for ' the
occasion. that was witnessed by the
large attendance that took part in the
-Cer'emony.
Priests that attended the ceremony
were: Father A. A. Rondot of Stony
Point: Father Aug. Caron of :roc -
Int: Father E. J. Chevalier, Pain.
4'onrt: Father Leo Marron, Comber;
Father T-Tenri Van V.ogncki of King--
bridrre: 12r- and Mia Thos. Prude of
Exeter were also present and as well
other notahle persons took part.
Pheare was something very inspir-
ing in the ventureing of taking up
the work to erect the mentioned
Statue, the idea was conceived by a
taarislhhoner Joseph ,Cantin, who in
early April of this present year took
his plea to the parish priest, Fattier
Poisson, for further understanding
and where it was approved of Ins-
mediate steps were taken to create a
voluntary fund for that worthy 'cause.
Of course, much more will be needed
to (beautify the 'surroundings, all of.
which entails further expenses. For
Vie benefit of those who are not ac-
quainted with the localit.}1, may we
:gay a little shrine of . the c'hurc'h
'grounds of St..Peter's ;Church, St.
Joseph. Ont. St. Joseph Parish, on the
Blue Water Highway, about eight
males north of Grand Fend. All pas' -
sere by and motorist: or those who
travel this highway, wilt at all times
be Welcome to stop and ask for pro-
tection throughout their journey.
Father Henri° Bernard who has
preached the Mission during the past
week, in his last remarks made men-
Con- of St. Toe,,ph, a little village in
Western Ontario, and in this parish
where the first idea originated to
honor the servant of St.- Joseph, and -
he also foretold that not in the too
far future pil:g,rinr.s in all walks of
. life would in a spritual way co-oper-
Me with St. .To. eph (r'•ator•y at Mt.
Royal and a little. shrine in this St
Joseph }Parish. Father Bernard was
*Aso greatly imnressed by voluntary
contributions from all regardless of •
faith. We coivpU,ment Father Poisson
for the ;great hart he has taken at
heart and in devoting so much time
its the success of this ,enterprise.
and lastly, but 'not least, we owe
much to the publiher of tlhe Zurich
Tl'erald who so generously gave us
space in the contains of his paper.

After: sleeping peacefully for 20

world vastly different from that
which he had known. Great changes
could enter our lives too -- but in
these modern times we and our de-.
