Barn Burns
The large bank barn and other
surrounding buildings burned to the
ground on Tuesday, located a few
miles north of Drysdale, known as
the Snowden homestead. People
passing on the road by auto at four
o'clock, a.m. noticed the flames soar-
ing skyward, and gave the alarm. It
will be a heavy loss as part of the
summer erops, as well as considerable
live stock were destroyed. Cause of
fire is uunknown

The annual Children's Day servic-
es of the Evangelical U. B. Church,
Zurich, will be observed next Sunday
morning, •beginning at 10.30 o'elock.
The regular worship service will be
combined with the Children's Day
program, supplied by the Sunday

Following a lengthy illness Mrs.
Magdeleme Sakwartzentruber, 95, of
Pater Ste Kitchener died Monday,
July 11th at the K -W. Hospital. Born
in. New Heanburg, June 186te Mrs.
Schwartzentruber went to Kitchener
45 years; ago. She was a member of
Stirling Ave. Mennopite Church and
the'W,M.S. Her parents were the late
Meren.o Sclinwartaentruber, in 1908.

Had Reunion
Birk Reunion
The annual Birk Reunion was held
ton July 3rd at the home of Mr and
Mrs. Theodore Rader, Goshee Line
South, with members of the Birk
Clan from Guelph, Detroit, Toronto,
Woodstock, Thedford. and Zurich,
numbering around fifty in attendance
After lunch Prof. Leonard Birk took
charge of the business. Letters were
read from members of the clan from
various points in United States who
regretted their inability to be pres-
ent this year, but expected. to be
able to attend next year. It was un-
animously decided to hold next year's
reunion at the same place. Leonard
Birk was again chosen as president,
with Arthur Truemner as vice presi-
dent, Secretary Treasurer, Whitney
Brokenshire, assistant secretary, Mrs.
Tho, Peachey, Sports cotninittee,
Mr and Mrs. Walter Rothwell. After
the business Mrs. Harold Rader and
Mrs, Lorne Rader took charge of the
sports which were veny mloya410,
