Huron • County Clinton Office
June 11 -- Dry weather still pre-
vails in most sections of the County
and all craps are suffering from lack
of moisture, particularly in the South
end of the County. Weather has
been ideal for the making of grass
silage and some farmers have ago
started haying. There is an increase
in the acreage of spring grains that
are being chemically sprayed for
weed control this year.

The Voice of Temperance
THE REAL TEST
A friend of mine said to me con-
cerning his ability to drink; "I can
Immediately I questioned him;
"How do you know? Have you ever
tried leaving it alone for a week, a
month, or longer?"
My friend was very honest, but a
little crestfallen to have to admit that
he never had tried to .abstain for any
such period. He admitted that tie was
in no position to snake such a state-
ment.
There anay be many boastful drink-
ers who shrug off the habit of com-
pulsive drinking as did any Blend.
The realtest is by total abstinence
over a period of time. If anyone has
the ability to abstain for •a month, he
probably has power to abstain for-
ever.
