Assessor George Armstroig of
Hensall was in town one ' day last
week. It will not be long when Mr.
Armstrong will be making his rounds
again here in Hay Township, and the

purchased Mr. J. H. 'Witmer's black-
smith shop in Zurich and will get
possession on May i1+st.
Attending Conference
Rev. H. E. Ropluel, pastor' of the
local Evangelical U. B. Churreti, is
attending the annual •Conference at
Olivet Church, Kitchener which be-
gins on Wednesday, and running to
Sunday May 1st, Mr. A. 'Meliek the
lay delegate will attend later in the
week.
Moved To Exeter. —
Mrs. William Rennie who has been
a resident of Blake since moving in
off the farm, has recently disposed
of her property to Mr. Lucien Corri-
veau and this 'Wednesday is moving
her effects to Exeter where She has
purchased a dwelling :property. We
wish her much health and happiness

The memlbens of the (Walther
League of Zion Lutheran church en-
tertained the newly confirmed at a
social evening, Tues. April 19. The
evening was spent in group games.
Rev L Higenell gave an address of
welcome and outlined the work of the
league. Lunch was served.
Miss Margaret Salmon entertained
a number of little friends at a birth-
day party Monday afternoon.
Miss 'Theresa Zimmer of London,
spent the week -end with her parents,
Mr and Mrs. Harry Zimmer.
Drs. John and Eunice MoKishnie,
and two sons John and Jamie of
London spent last Wednesday with
the latter's father, Mr. Aaron Oes-
treicher.
Mr. Earl Peifer of 'Chatham call-
ed on his mother, Mrs. Matilda Peof-
er Friday morning and both spent
the day at Grand Bend with relatives.
