the Blue Water Highway south, for-
merly the Beavertown burg, visiting
Mt.and Mrs Alphonse Masso and the
Geoffroi Borne. The Denorfame's
were formerly natives of that centre,
therefore making their visit: an enjoy-
able one,
Master Ronald Ducharme is at
present confined to his room suffer-
ing from an attack of pneumonia.
We wish him a speedy recovery. He
is the son of .Mr and Mrs. A Du-
charme of this Highway. •
The month of January .is passing
away, and to date we have not suff-
ered too much from cold or filled
roads, or other disagreeable weather,
so with a little patience the rest of

Milton (Pollock of Varna.
Resident Passes
A highly respected resident of
Varna passed away in Clinton Pub-
lic ,Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 16th,
in the person of Mr. Edwin Chuter,
lin his 76th year. Born in England,
he .came to Canada at an early age
'and had lived at Varna most of his
life. He was a member or Varna
Anglican Church. Surviving presides
his wife who was formerly Miss Sus-
an Elliott of.. Goderich Twp., are 4
sons and six daughters, Harvey Chu -
ter of Owen Sound; Thomas, Hamil-
ton; •Elliott at home and Wilrred of
Varna; Mrs. Wim. Townsend, Bay-
field; Mrs. Norman Walper; Exeter;
Mrs. Jos. ' Pongrez, - Byron; Mrs. El-
mar McBride and Mrs. Walter Mc-
Bride sof Exeter and Mrs. Fred 'Car-
ter London. There is also One bro-
ther, Fred Chuter,,,. of .Preston. The
funeral was held on Wednesday last
to Baird's cemetenyl. Rev.. W. Outer -

-of the ,production. The audience was
thrilled with the beauty of the cost-
umes and staging as well as with the
performance of the young dancers'
all of whom were ;beginers. The
antics of Buttons, the Baron and' es=
pecially of the Ugly Sisters in their
search for a man provoked many
laughs. Mrs. Davis, the producer,
and the seven women who form the
HensallGirl Guide Association are
to be congratulated on the very fine
success of this most ambitious project
and will be repeated on Friday night
Jan. nth in the Hensall Town Haill.
Bill Fuss, is to be congratulated
for the very fine lighting effects used
in the production "Cinderella" and
which was much admired. Bill made
two spotlights, fixed up the coloured
slides and was responsible for all the
lighting service effects.

Peter Phillip McKenzie
Petor Phillip McKenzie of Kippen
passed away in -Scott Memorial Hos-
pital, Seaforth, Saturday 22nd., hav-
ing ,been adanitted to the hospital on
Wednesday with a heart condition,
in his 73rd year. Born in Stanley
Township and resided' on the same
farm. in Tu•ckersmith for 45 years.

daughters and four sons and 7 grand-
children. Resting at the Bonthron
