this hamlet on Saturday when a car
driven by 3. Hayden, of Detroit,Mich.
travelling north on the County Road
went lover a hill situated on the south
side of the intersection, applied brak-
es and went off on the west part of
the road; hit the two story frame
fhouse owned by Amos Gingerich of
R.R.2; Zurtall,. struck the east side
of the house ripped off to the north
corner doing extensive damage to the
living room and inside of the walls
between the inside and out. Pictures
on the walls in the living room were
knocked down and btoken, also lights
knocked off the table, and pictures
on the piano were knocked off by the
impact. Mrs. iGingerich who was a-
lone with her daughter Betty '15, at
the time the crash occurred .and who
were both badly frightened, said that
damage -would mount int io the hund-
reds. Damage to the car was $400,
Prov. Officer iCecil Gibbons of Exeter
investigated.
