'She was the only dau- ghter of 'Mr and :Mrs. Fred Harburn. Ila..?id. a cousin, Eleanor Boa, 10,., had had gone to a nearby pond on the farm of Burt Mahaffy, the ,pond is a popular spot for children. The girls had been in swimming for a time and had cone out. Eleanor said she was chilly and took a bicycle ride; Ila de- cided to go in for another swim. When Eleanor returned she could not fn:d Ila and gave an alarm, the Mit- chell firemen responded and attempt- ed to drain the pond, but after wad- ing in, the water found the body in a shallow part. No. response was in applied artificial respiration for an hour, and Coroner Dr. McLandress of Mitchell, pronounced the girl dead. Besides her parents Ila is survived by three brothers.
