Miss Ann Deters spent several
days in London the past week,
Mr and Mrs John Anderson visit-
ed recently in Detroit, Mich.
Mr and Mrs Wm. Kyle were recent
visitors to Dearborn, 1Vf'ch,

the week -end at the home of ner bro-
ther Mr acid Mrs Wm. Mero.
Mrs. W. E. Foster Was taken to
S. Huron Hospital, Exeter, this week
by I3onthron's Ambulance.
Mrs. Victoria Dedels returned to
Kitchener after spending a week here
with her mother, Mrs. E. Deters, Sr.
Mr. John Doig, Grand Rapids,Mich
was a recent visitor with his mother,
Mrs. Lydia Doig and sister Janet of
Kippen. .
Mr and Mrs Earl Smith from De-
troit, on their way to the •Georgia
Inlet, were week -end visitors at the
home of their friends, Mr and Mrs.

Mr. Pete Kilpatrick, who will cel-
ebrate his 85th birthday in August,
and who has been spending the past
3 years at Leedale, Alb., pant a sur-
prise visit to the home of Mr and Mrs
Wm. Kyle and family, Kippen. He
travelled 'alone by train from Albta.
and expects to remain here with the
Kyle's with whom he lived with for
many years before going west.

The annual Vacation Bible School
sponsored by the Hensall Recreation-
al committee was held in the local Un-
ited Church for 10 days. There was
a total regis. of 117 with an average
attendance of 93. The children seem-
ed keenly interested. Friday eve, July
16, the parents were invited to the
church to view the children's work
and to enjoy the evenine•'s entertain-
ment. Ice Bream, chocolate milk for
all the children was supplied, and a
good time enjoyed.
Late Ira Tetreau
Private services for Ira Tetreau,
55, well known Stephen Township
farmer, who died at his, home, con-
cession 15, -were conducted on Friday
2 p.m. in the Hoffman Funeral Horne,
Dashwood, by the Rev. E. W ettam.
Interment was made in Grand Bend
Cemetery. He .was a member of the
Church. of God, at Grand Bend. Sur-
viving besides his wife, the former
Myrtle Neeb, are one son, Donald, of
Stephen; two daughters, Mona, Dash-
wood; Mrs. Robert Edmonds, Listo-
wel; one .sister Mrs. Peter Eisenbach,
Grand Bend; and one brother, Emery
Stephen.

HAY COUNCIL.
The regular monthly meeting of
the Hay !Council was held in the Co-
uncil Chamber on July 5th at 8.30
p.an. at which time the following mot-
ions were passed.
That the minutes of the June 7th
and June 26th meetings be ac.opted
as read. That in reponse -o the
request made in writing by Ervin J.
Willert to haye about 40 rocts of the
Willert Drain cleaned out, we engage
L. H. Turnbull to do the necessary
work. That Monday,. August 2nd
be declared a Civic Holiday, for Hay
Township and Zurich. That the var-
ious accounts be paid as per voucher.
That the meeting be adjourned to
meet again on Tuesday, Aug. 3rd at
8: p.m.
